  1. was wondering if this was why you sold the truck, lol
  2. Always, always, check the unloader side of the system first for this issue, if its not an unloader line leak its the unloader seals 95% of the time. Changing governors wont fix a recurring dryer purge, changing compressors only fixes the issue if the unloader seals are bad and its a whole lot cheaper and easier to replace the seals than the whole compressor. I think Ive fixed this same issue a hundred times maybe more, its a very common problem, I used to keep a squirt bottle with soapy water and an unloader rebuild kit on my toolbox when I worked at Howard Baer it was so common. Glad you got it fixed before you spent big money on a compressor.
  3. Geez, two E9 powered Superliners could move that easy!
  4. Yeah that's custom folks, take a good side view of a ch set forward, not even close.
  5. I still want more pics of that truck, and any contact info would be great too, id buy a cl if i could make that happen.
  6. Don't take the valve cover off your MP engine, you'll feel sick.
  7. ya know I believe your right, i think it was the 97's we had that were VMAC pump trucks not 99's.
  8. The tiller saw the can but misread it.....thought it said whoop ass!
  9. I always heard the expression "good old fashioned american ingenuity" growing up, looks like there's some good old fashioned Russian ingenuity going on now. Awesome work Vlad, I may have to pay for a plane ticket to get you to help me on a couple projects.
  10. On a 99 ch it could have been an etech or a vmac e7, need to get that narrowed down for sure. Most likely culprit on an etech is the throttle pedal wiring, on a vmac e7 would be the pump wiring around the Bosch connector near the pump.
  11. My 84 did the same thing, rebuilt the solenoids and it went away.
  12. yeah, some trucks have them on the compressor, some the tank, some both. I was going by experience with similar trucks on the placement so I may not be dead on.
  13. Its possible but its more likely an air leak on the unloader side, get a spray bottle with a little dish soap mixed with water and with the truck running go spray everything down from te governor to the tank on the unloader line, I'll bet somewhere you'll see bubbles. If you build up to pressure and it stays up on the gauge but continues to purge there is a leaky line or o ring on the unloader side of the system, this won't show on the gauge but unless it holds pressure it will start the process all over again.
  14. there are two air lines that go to the dryer, one is the unloader line, its stamed on the dryer. When the air dryer builds to 120 nominal psi the piston in the governor shifts closing the unloader line and opening the purge line, springs on the unloader valves in the head of the air dryer are overcome with air pressure and are held open. If an air dryer purges way too often the problem 9 times out of 10 is a leak in the unloader side of this system, be it a leak in the 1/4" line, the governor itself or the unloader valves in the head of the compressor. In a perfect system when you reach 120psi the unloader system holds this pressure until you use enough system air (braking, air horn or aux functions) to reach your cut in pressure (approx 90psi) when the sytem will re charge to cut out pressure (115-125psi) at that point the system will again close the valve and purge the system. Long story short, if its purging more than your using air, you have a leak in the unloader side about 90% of the time.
  15. A lot of people think hi lift gates are still built like they were back in the 70's/80's. Fact is they are no where near it, they have pins and swing like a std gate, the hi lift is a separate function activated independently of the latch so you don't have to use it. Rogers and Ox have refined the hi lift so much you barely notice they're there until they are lifted, the cyls are hyd now instead of air And housed in he rear post out of the way.
  16. Thats why I have two german shepherds, theyll pretty much come out on top of anything they get into.......four legged or two legged!
  17. The Rogers Stealth body would probably be best up north since the bottom is smooth and boxed in, no way for the salt to get to crossmembers and rust it out.
  18. http://rogersdumpbodies.com/ Stealth or Millenium, all their bodies are top notch but those are the two I would pic for the salty north.
  19. calling but the pic doesnt match the description, thanks BNB
  20. OK on to the next truck, still looking for a tri axle or quad Superliner in decent shape people!
  21. Is this thing for sale or what? Ive emailed and called help a brother out here!
  22. Ha, freakin awesome, that is definitely better than a heavy ol pot of gold!
