  1. Holy Shit!, thatll make you crap your pants, just riding along on a nice paved road and BAM! in a hole!
  2. I just have this crazy feeling his $500 more deal fell thru for some reason, I wouldnt give him any money till i was bringing it home without a signed receipt.
  3. Post the question in engines and transmissions. As I recall the E9 started in 84, the 1005 was the same engine in its pre E9 form, before that say the 70's and early 80's was the 864,865 and 866, I don't know much about them but others here do.
  4. wellyours has purple flames.......that's a whole different ball game! (softball I think) LOL!
  5. David Denney got the old v12 pete. I'll have my Superliner at the truck and tractor pull in Manchester Saturday were setting up an ATHS booth, come by if you get a chance.
  6. I'm in so far, need to know a few things, is this an rw613 or 713? How far from the back of the cab to the end of the frame? When can I come look it over?
  7. I would have to see the specs side by side but I think I would stick with a granite set forward with an mp7 and Allison for light local stuff. I just haven't seen enough difference in the std and the MHD to justify it and the ISL is nearly the same size as an MP7.
  8. For reference when putting this baby away its 9, tall to the top of the horn, 10' to the top of the stack, which it didnt have, 16' long and under 8' wide. Oh and still taking offers, come on somebody on here can save this thing.
  9. another pre E9 998cu in V8, isnt that two in a week? I didnt think they made that many 1005 engines, and this one is intercooled where the other one wasnt.
  10. one thing is missing here, what size drive tires do you have? 4.42 rears with 11R24.5's is pretty much the standard here and I averaged 6.8 doing the math in my 04 Granite, my friend does the same with his tri axle, all grossing 74,000#. actually two things are missing, what trans are you running? OD or Direct, Mack or Eaton, .74 or .68 or .62 OD? all this comes into play. Id leave it alone, you got almost 6mpg letting it run all day sitting in traffic and I always shut ,ine off if it sat more than 5 minutes so i saved a ton of fuel there. Also just because you are using half throttle doesnt mean your only using 350hp, you have more torque than stock now with the pump work and injectors and the torque is what does your pulling down low. I think if you just ease into the throttle and let the truck do the work, keep it under 20- 25# of boost (unless you can pass a cat) youll be happy with it. I had 4.42 rears on low pro 24.5 tires in my 84 Superliner, E9 440hp V8 turned up a bit with a Mack trtxl 1070 . It was geared steep for the highway and I pulled containers and dump trailers but if i did more driving under 55-60mph than over 65 i averaged 6.2-6.5 but I never used more than half throttle unless I was teaching a pete a lesson on a hill. leave it alone and give yourself some time to get used to driving it, youve onloy had that done two weeks now, itll take time to learn how to drive the new hot rod parts to get the most out of them.
  11. I think I saw a new Mack R model grille at Winrock truck parts in the warehouse, cant be sure but it seems like I did.
  12. Whew, $60k.....id be hard pressed to pay that for a truck with purple fenders!
  13. You know they have power programmers, cold air intakes and exhaust for those now that gets even more mpg.
  14. fwd ill get em for ya tomorrow hopefully, I just worked most of the day for the railroad and came home to get my truck and hauled two pieces of machinery, I is tired! I havent had it our on the highway, the stack is a rigged up job because the former owner didnt like the weedburner but that is what should be on it, its pretty darn small for a truck, I have room for it a gator and plenty of other stuff on my trailer. I got no records on it, havent hit the mack museum up yet.
  15. How much can you guys gross on those daycabs and short dumps up there?
  16. looks like you ran over another trailer somewhere, you have an extra axle stuffed under there, lol
  17. its hard to beat a 980 for loading trucks, seems like they are the perfect size, that old 963 looks great, Ive seen 963C's in worse shape for sure
  18. 2 MILLION DOLLARS! Ha, make me an offer and we'll see what happens, I dont have a lot in it and really I just want to get my money back, maybe a little more if I put the tires on it and service it but thats about it.
  19. Well I guess Im gonna let the MB go, I had some big plans for the truck, hoped to get it back to Overnite Freight colors and take it to some shows but I have too many projects and not enough time or money so Ill let another Mack guy have this one. I havent done much of anything to the truck since I bought it, hit the key and it fires right up, runs great actually no smoke and pretty damn smooth for a '72 673 non turbo. I may put 6 newer 11R22.5's tires on it, I have to see if I have em. might do a service, again have to see what I have, I think I have the filters somewhere. So anyway, this was a factory Mack MB Overnite Freight truck, 673 non turbo, duplex trans, single axle(dont remember ratio), it has had a gooseneck ball and plate mounted in front of the 5th wheel that is bolted by factory bolts so it comes off clean(no welds). I dont know what else to say, make me some offers and lets find her a new home!
  20. Harbison trucking just went global, I know of guys collecting those overseas even, awesome man.
  21. if it sat that long im sure there is algae growing in the fuel system somewhere, get some algicide for the tanks and swap the filters befpre you get too carried away it could just be a fuel supply issue.
  22. Might be running out of fuel, new filters? Any leaks or wet spots in the fuel system?
