  1. 5.0! Whew ease up on the skinny pedal, a friend here has 4 new granites,3 mp8, 2 Allison 1 8LL, all get over 6mpg.the best is 6.8 with an mp8 455 Allison and 4.19 rears on 11R24.5's. He has found that your foot has is a huge factor in tire wear and mpg with the Allison trucks.
  2. Well on the cb handle front I got the nickname "502" back when I was big into street/drag racing, told everybody I was gonna drop a 502 crate motor in and smoke em all 1 too many times. Anyway "502" got shortened up to "deuce" for a while, then I made a change to "empty pockets", i thought it fit well driving a chromed out truck. Then after goin back to dump trucking they wouldn't let me keep empty pockets so it was back to deuce, has been ever since even overseas.
  3. Valley chrome will build you a bumper for about $300-$500 chrome country at rush truck center in Smyrna Tn is a dealer but I'm sure there is one closer to you. I've seen one they did that looked like the stocker you have but it was 3" taller with holes for turn signals on each end, it was niiice!
  4. Check to see if you have power to the cl terminal on the terminal strip on the firewall, when you turn on your park lights two studs should have power park and cl, if so pull a bulb and make sure you don't have power to the light and its not just a bulb or socket issue, not being mean but its happened before.
  5. Ya know after seeing the titans and chu's with the 7" rawhide stacks, those little std pipes just look weird.
  6. dzlsrtbd, if you go with a mack upgrade you WILL be UNhappy, the difference is not worth the money and they will do it all factory spec, you could make more hp for a lot less cash doing what the guys here have done with the rochester stuff.
  7. Ive been looking for one, so far I like the JET, Grizzly has a nice one too but I have never seen one of them up close to know the quality.
  8. See the guy did the right thing and let it go, I would have been a dick and made her dogs go away or had the county make them go away, now she got hurt by her dogs and she wants him to pay for it, um no, id want her ass to go away with her dogs now.
  9. appears to be a KRWL1613L, or something like that.
  10. Found this pic looking for other stuff and thought it fit this thread well, so here it is folks the what the heck is this beast pic version 2.0, pic taken from the internet.
  11. My Superdog? yours makes more power than mine, better get one of those high dollar 24" clutches for yours before it hits the road again. The V8 CL is pretty awesome even though I cant see it all.
  12. Well at least I'm not the only one that's cold, been freezing my ass off working on this RR junk, half the time on top of a mountain in the freakin wind. I want one of those cushy truck driver jobs where you get to sit in the heat all day.
  13. I still have to get my truck cleaned up and come by your shop one day to get some pics of it next to your truck, only thing better than a pic of one superliner is a pic of two!
  14. Makes me so freaking happy I could shit to hear that a 12 liter Etech runs with and pulls better than a 16 liter Volvo.
  15. With a 2001 Etech, look at rochester fuel injection for performance, a few guys on here have had good results with their stage 2 injectors, the factory ecm upgrades are normally a waste of time and money when you can swap injectors and turbo and add over 100hp to the ground with the stock program. just my two cents http://www.rochesterfuel.com/products/mack-performance/
  16. Oh and make sure you are getting power to both the cl and tail studs on the distribution block on the firewall in the same area, lemme know if that helps.
  17. I have had a phone call on that one twice! Theres another fuse panel under the hood on the firewall near the coolant tank, "cl lights". If you already checked there, the switch turns on both the clearance and park light circuits and they go to relays in the dash on the right side.
  18. Good luck, IM pondering a change too, my problem is I have a good steady job now but I hate the corporate b.s. I go thru spells where Im gonna be gone in a month and others where I think I can make it work, in the end Im sure Ill end up back in a truck its what I always wanted to do and Im a lot happier trucking than beating my head against a wall.
  19. Hey boss, remember when you said the trailer needed work but we went with more chrome for the pete instead...........yeah,I think it may have been a bad idea!
  20. How the hell did that much crap get in there, remember its easier to bury the bodies than to clean the drain after the disposal makes its mess.
  21. B61, I run just over 1400 rpm at 70mph with an Eaton 9 spd (.73od) and 11R24.5 tires. I would like to get closer to 1500-1600 at 60-70 so I need to go to 3.86/87-4.17 but for your application with a mack 10 spd and 11 r22's you'd be about right to cruise around with 3.65 rears.
  22. Yeah don't get too into numbers on pistons and turbos etc, believe it or not that stuff can be changed for power and economy you Do Not have to use the factory numbers after its out of warranty. The pump swap requires an E7 mechanical Bosch pump set up for at minimum 400hp and the injector lines to go with it, that's it. Me personally I'd have em set one up to 400hp specs plus 20% then get some Antrim diesel or Rochester fuel injection injectors and a Borg warner turbo and make more like 500-600hp.
  23. I've never heard of a Mack trans in a paccar but crazier things have happened, the first Cat 550's would have been 3406E models in the mid to late 90's The Cat 550's use an Eaton 18918 or other 18 series transmission, the 600 and 625 use the 20918 its got a bigger input shaft.
