  1. Mentioned once before, but is anyone familiar with Chappaqua (NY) Transportation's old bus #52? I'm nearly positive it was a B Model. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I'd you've never seen a V8 Supercar race you've not lived... It's some of the best racing in the world. Door banging hard racing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. How many gallons is the tank? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Love the red roof over white.... Maybe just because I'm partial to fire trucks.....
  5. I'm nearly positive that there were no FDNY rigs that ever ran the RD model as a piece of front line apparatus. In 1969-1970 a handful of R model crew cab pumpers were delivered.... Mack did run a handful of RD's in support roles as wreckers and carrying roll-offs and maybe even as fuel rigs. But they never ran an RD as a "fire truck"
  6. Can someone explain how the front 4 rigs work? If it were a train, there would be multiple unit controls in the leading unit that controlled the functions of all the other locomotives in consist. How do these rigs coordinate their power? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Speaking of wives and purchasing of cars.... tell me how you think this is going to go.... My older brother is a very successful Wall Street businessman but in a rare twist is also one heck of a mechanic. Nothing he can't fix or rebuild. He has a collection of 12 cars ranging from a 1967 matching numbers Ferrari 330GTC to a 1985 MB 300TD... Shelby GT350R, Defender 109, 2006 BMW M5 1969 GTO convertable... you get the point. New and old.... European and American.... All beautiful.... His wife, enjoys the cars and even drives some but finds all of it to be excessive. So I get an email from him the other day that says.... "oops I didn't think I'd win this on ebay".... 1973 BMW 2002 (his first car ever owned or raced). So this weekend, his wife is going upstate to antique shop with her mother and sister near Lake George and he is supposed to play Mr. Mom. Well his daughters practice was cancelled and he decided to pull his son from his 8AM LaCrosse practice and he will be driving to PA from CT to pick up the car.... How do you think its going to go on Saturday night when he is out in the garage tinkering with his new toy and the wife calls to say goodnight to the kids and she asks "how was your day"? And their response is... "boring, Daddy pulled us out of practice and drove us 8 hours round trip to Pennsylvania to pick up some old car"....

  9. Just about everyone in Russia and Eastern Europe has one in their car. Apparently getting the at fault individuals insurance to pay is difficult without hard proof. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. Paul if I'm not mistaken there were a half dozen or so of these FDNY R models with 237's and St Louis ran quite a few with 707's exclusively, with the newest ones running in reserve status until the early '90's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. British Class 55 loco's used ND's.... There are several videos on youtube of them. They are unique sounding.
  13. Anything that was said via email you have a trail for.... did you ever indicate and/or get a response that you were sending the check?

    Oops

So I'm in Cookeville, TN and I get back to the hotel after hitting my favorite food and beer joint with one of my employees. I go across the parking lot to the Pilot to grab one last beer and a bottle of water and what to I see but a tore up navy blue freight shaker with the bumper cover tore off and the passenger side fill hose from the fuel pump disconnected from the quick release and lying on the ground. The guy appeared to drive off just as I got to my room and I looked out the window to see the employees looking confused at it. I too was confused as you would think this would set off an alarm in the building or trigger a fuel pump shutdown. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Yep. If you were just a motivated member that tried hard to move the department forward and they didn't agree with you than just go chat with the board and let them know your intentions to preserve the originality of the rig. Offer them first refusal if you ever sell it. If you got thrown out of the department for other reasons you might be SOL. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Several stations in my area of Florida are selling R90 gasoline which is essentially 90 octane ethanol free intended for marine or small off road engine use. There is a website that lists all the ethanol free stations in the US and Canada as well.
  17. I'm not too sure there were very many jakes that enjoyed riding in one of these Oshkosh LTI ladders either.... Although the cab under design of the Strick was even worse than the Oshkosh
  18. Joes Mack are you from Evarts, KY? My wife's sweet great aunt Gloria (Glorie) who passed last year was from Evarts. I travel through Harlan, Cawood, and Lynch to visit her kin when I'm on business up that way as often as I can. I grew up not 20 miles from Stamford CT where it appears this rig came from. If I can ever be of assistance please let me know.
  19. Vlad where are you? Help this guy out... It sounds like he is in Central Europe...
  20. Paul what is the story with the name Horan. I was a fire captain in Westchester under a chief named Horan who had a brother that used to haul for construction in Florida. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Vero might be optimistic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I'd love to meet up. If I bring the Ike realistically Yeehaw on the Turnpike or Vero on 95 is as far as a day hop would work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Where did you drive up to? I'm in Winter Park (Orlando) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I personally will be flying my Gadsden Flag on Friday. Our government continues to step on the hard working people of this country in favor of our enemies and those who turn their back to us even though we fund colossal amounts of aid to them. Learn a little about the flag, its history, and why ironically, the country that was founded by the principals of those who originally flew the flag, could use a little dose of their own history to bring them back to reality. If you can find one, fly it... And anyone who tells you that you must be a tea partier (whether you are or aren't isn't important) because you fly the Gadsden... Tell them that they don't have a clue and to shove it!!! God Bless America !
