    I was going to say something similar but I remembered the guy looks on here lol. Hard to beat the short wheelbase "look" and if your going to make a Mack look like a Peterbuilt then you've missed the point.

    No not this perticular truck. I'm just remembering all that was wrong with our Mh cabover after sitting a few years outside.

    Glad you got it out of there! A few more years with those pine needles and there would have been nothing left of that truck. Your brake and throttle pedal might be stuck so I would spray some stuff on those asap.

    They seek to destroy all the beauty that's left in the world. Those old straight 6 motors from Jaguar are some of the most beautiful ever put into an automobile

    I've always wondered about the purple people eater engines, seemed like they could have made them work if given a few more years. I can attest the smaller engines they had In combines are great! They had enough power and are very fuel efficient for what they are, seems like they'd make a great pickup motor.

    Glad to see everyone had good food! We had turkey and oyster stuffing, the hunting after was awesome too! Tons of quail and even a few pheasants, haven't seen them around here in years.

    If you're looking for cool and rare maybe try a Diamond T. I saw this one at an auction the other day, the first one I've ever been around. Wow they look and feel well made! I don't know what It sold for but if I would have stayed I might have "accidentally" bought it

    Wow I've never seen something like that! A few ranchers around here use military truck in winter for water haulage but the farmers seem to shy away from them. Probably not going to haul very much very fast with an LTL or B series but they would still look cool. The 60s International grain trucks have the best sealed cab (from dust at least) in my experience. Good luck!

    The Mack Mh 4x4 used by UPS is the only truck that I can think of that used a front drive steer axle and I believe Mack developed some sort of special clutch just for the front wheel drive unit. Here's the post that has more details on that:

    I once saw a spec book for one of those Magnadyne engine but I didn't pick it up unfortunately. Point gap should be around .015-.020 on most engine, a business card is what I use since it's just about the right thickness. I'm not even sure what brand of ignition Mack used Do you have any pictures of the engine? Lots of the small parts have to be cross referenced.

    Saw one of those Astros at a show the other day, think it had the 6v71 Every time I think of Astros I think of that ugmo van from the mid 80s and that weird ad that always gets stuck in my head.

    https://www.mylittlesalesman.com/1982-mack-e6-engine-9994460 This 1982 tip turbine has the line. I thought surely someone hooked something up wrong but if you look through the pictures this one has it too.

    Unless there is some sort of check valve somewhere I can't image what that line would be used for. Your draft tube should add a bit of negative pressure to the crankcase when your going down the road but maybe this setup is for keeping a negative pressure when your parked.

    The boosted intake air is what he is trying to measure, it just so happens to be a tip turbine engine. Although I wonder how much pressure is bled off from the turbo for the tip turbine system. In my head I've always thought the puff limiter was for drivers who didn't own the truck. When you pay the bills you are more conscious about what is coming out the stack and what's going past the rings into your crankcase. Wait until you feel the turbo come up then start adding fuel

    I didn't know that's how those Mazda boxes failed. Every auction Ford pickup with that Mazda 5 speed always seems to have a blown transmission, I just assumed it was from "farmer abuse" I did a slave cylinder on my 91 Ford with the ZF and it wasn't too bad getting it in and out, but it was 2WD. The 4WD NV4500 I did not to long ago was terrible and I hope I don't have to do another one of those again. It was 100+ pounds heavier than the ZF and it was in my driveway in winter.
