  1. Wouldn't mind having that R In my driveway! On an off topic note: I can't recall ever seeing an f250 with roof marker lights. I always associated marker lights as the mark of a one ton (at least in GM land)
  2. Good motors indeed. A lot of them still around here in bull haulers Also I can't say I've ever seen a factory snorkel on a Mh with an E6. I know some fleets requested them but most of the large fleets ordered Cummins. Interesting for sure!
  3. The first Duramax was an 7.8 inline 6 to test common rail on a mass scale. Can't find much info on the 7.8 but we got them here in box trucks and such. All I know is that Mitsubishi V8s sounded sweet!
  4. Wish I could buy a farm down in Australia, then I could farm all year long and not have to deal with the cold! Merry Christmas!
  5. V8 seem more popular there than they ever were here. Some of those trucks sounded like mini E9s! or at least 7.3 powerstrokes.
  6. Want to bump this us so it doesn't get lost in the weeds. Can't offer up anything except I've never seen fire rings cut into the sleeve/block, but since this is a dry sleeve engine maybe that doesn't work? Dale Francis is famous for doing E9 heads but I'm not sure if he messes with any of the other Mack engine heads. Someone here will know more.
  7. I'd agree with the DT466 idea since cummins can be a bit pricy to find. Plus DT466 is rebuildable!! John Deere engines can also be pretty easy to find and are about the same as a DT466. Eaton 6 or 7 speed is what I would go for but if you feel up to plumbing in air lines or even driving with twin sticks you can put any transmission in you want.
  8. Ford built and designed they say, although I've read that Italian Iveco might have had their hand in designing it.
  9. It was Braum's milk so it was the best of the best for store bought stuff. Still at $5.80+ per gallon I'm convinced its cheeper to keep a milk cow around. I'd guesstimate that the population of coyotes is more than equal to the population of people in my county. Each year a contest is held to see who can kill the most in one day. The winner is usually gets 20-30 and overall the contest kills 50-100+. The trapping/fur markets still big around here.
  10. Troubles seem to start in the rear HI-LO boxes on these Mack transmissions. From what I've heard rebuilds are tricky and not to many around to do it anymore ($). They can be swapped out for an Eaton but Im not sure about airline and clutch specifics. If your wanting to keep the driveline all Mack I'd look for a 12 speed, they're really nice if you do a lot of backing and seem to hold up pretty well.
  11. Don't eat out all that often but even the cheapest ingredients have gone up. $35 for 6 gallons of milk which will last the week. To make things worse a fox got all but one of our chickens the other day so no more fresh eggs
  12. Jokes aside It really does look similar to the 80s Ford CL9000 cabovers here in America. Don't know if they ever made it over to Europe so might just be a coincidence. I'd say they are my 2nd favorite cabover, behind the Mh of course.
  13. RPReplay_Final1702073190.mov "I have personally taste-tested each and every household insecticide" -Dale Gribble
  14. Forgot that Autocar was still kicking. I think the newest Autocar I've seen was a garbage truck.
  15. Good looking truck! Hope you can return the bulldog back to its pedestal.
  16. At some point I'd think it would be more cost effective to go with tracks than all those axles and tires!
  17. Also might stop at the Cozy Inn burger joint while you're in Salina. I always try to stop there if I'm going through,
  18. Long ways to go for some sprayer booms, what's is it off of? I've always seen Canadians always come to this area to buy equipment that is so worn out I don't see why it would be worth it. The real thinker is that most of the equipment they buy was made in Canada or somewhere north, so why would they come all this way to buy it back?! Good to hear that about our roads but wait till you reach OK then the roads get real bad! While you're in the area you might swing through Pratt and see the park lights, or maybe ride the Wilmore carousel if you really wanting to burn time. Not many exciting things to do around here...
  19. Doesn't sound like all that much especially with 400 horse and 6.14 ratio. 32,000lbs of water plus whatever trailer is being used should be a cake walk, although liquid transport is tricky on any sort of grade.
  20. Couldn't agree more. I love their planetary rears! As I understand it Mack had something similar to that for years.
  21. Couldn't tell you what specific PSI, but if you are testing all 6 injectors and they are close to the same popping pressure then you should be good. Spray pattern is whats most important when testing injectors.
  22. I don't even like using Crisco seasoning pans anymore, never mind cooking and baking with it. Animal fats the way to go! I know this sounds like something off of The Beverly Hillbillies but raccoon fat is the best if you can find some. Bacon grease would work but its better to find some with no salt in it.
  23. Fords really the only one of the big 3 still in the 6500 and up class. Freightliner filled up the gap they left behind.
  24. Sounds fun! I don't know anything about how you would get a license if you're a non citizen. You shouldn't need a CDL, and as far as I understand anything under 26,000 lbs will not require anything but a license. There isn't much regulations on the small stuff In regards to weight.
