    What cracks me up about this thread, is that I pride myself on what I know about Mack's, but I cant say with 100% confidence about how the Doggy stood there.. It's not like I haven't opened thousands of Mack hoods.. Oh well.... 🍻

    It would be great if its the lift pump. Ive had a few of them leak internally.

    I also dont know what models had the front legs on the base.

    And the back legs are threaded. So the bolts will need washers to fit right.

    Yes there are.. but you need to run the rack the Mack way.. not the overlap way.. when you are up on #1, the #2 exhaust rocker will be rocked... It takes 2 full rotations to do the proper adjustment, once you get it up on #1.. P.S. do not loosen the rockers before starting..

    No dash valve, just diverter flaps. We would put a shut off valve on the manifold where the heater line hooks up, and on the top left of the water pump where the nipple is.. Close them in the summer, and open them in the winter.. the inline cable operated valve is junk, but good enough for when outside temps are average for the time of year..

    did you confirm the high temp using an I.R. thermometer on the water manifold? it will show a temp that is a little lower, but may show an obvious temp. issue, like a bad sensor saying its 210 degrees when it is actually 180ish..

    I always wondered how the only birds that were supposedly infected were the ones used for egg production, but there was plenty of chickens to eat.. and turkey's didnt get the bird flu? and how come regular, everyday birds werent just dropping from the sky across America..?

    It could be. One way we would check the regulator without a gauge was to squeeze the braided hose with pliers to see if the idle smooths out. Of course if the line is old and stiff, you run the risk of breaking the hose internally.. I expect some disagreement on that last part.. 🍻

    when the front cover is off, the plugs are over to the left when looking at the front of the engine. they are 1/4'' npt. theres 2 of them. you can see the top one behind the overboard breather, the other is 1 '' below it. . fuel pressure is between 60 and 80 psi, however that year may require a 100 psi regulator. It is found coming out of the block below the #4 eup. yours will be a 45 degree fitting with a #6 braided hose and possibly a 1/4'' plastic return coming off of it. that is the return side of the fuel galleries

    There is a fuel gallery plug behind the front cover that can leak. I have posted a few times on this subject. The rough idle may be the pressure regulator. My guess is it idles at 625 rpm's and it surges to about 650. Up and down continuously..

    Thanks Bob... Truth is... On some of these issues, i dont waste time studying news stories or publications... I just look at the real world as it happens and think,,, Hmm.. That seems sideways.. Gut instincts... I also dont mind being corrected if what i read is truthful.

    Without writing a book.... I think the tariff scare is fabricated by Democrats who own the big news channels.. Then greedy business owners can raise prices because we are told it WILL happen, when all the time, the costs drop because no foreign company wants to lose the American Consumer.... And we sure do Consume....

    And Nancy Pelosi does insider trading in stocks and is worth i think 225 million.. But Martha Stewart gets a heads up on when to sell stock and she gets locked up for a while... Non of this has negative affects on the quality of my sleep, just puttin it out there...
