  1. Rotate the engine clockwise looking from the front. Do you have a barring tool to put in the flywheel housing... I am very particular about this topic...
  2. Heck, un hook the emergency line on each trailer brake chamber and cap the line. Then release the brakes and check for the leak. Do one at a time, hooking the removed line back up before going to another chamber. If the leak goes away, the the chamber with the line removed has a diaphragm leak. You can put a piggy back on it, or replace the whole chamber..
  3. Thank you. I agree, I am over thinking it.
  4. I just saw that Cracker Barrel pulled the new logo.. hope its true.. Not because i love the eatery..... Because of Principal!
  5. Bench timing . Like i used to do with Robert Bosch pumps that had TEM port. Just thought the pump needed to be pre-set before mounting it to the engine with the engine barred to the degrees on the data plate at BTDC.
  6. Well my pump is on the bench. I thought i was supposed to set the pump up on the bench, them set the engine to Zero BTC on #1 then install the pump, then back the engine up 30+ degrees and check the port closing against the degrees on the flywheel.
  7. Well, as long as I dont set the pump too hot and risk burning a piston,i will be ok. This truck is a restoration, and will likely see parades, and shows not hauling loads..
  8. All these libtards saying that the military in D.C. is Intimidating and people are afraid to go outside, or out to dinner are idiots. I told my wife... I can walk through a crowd of law enforcement with a gun on my person without issue... You know why ???? Because I have nothing to hide from. Im not a criminal.. Those that say they cant go out because the policing presence scares them,,,, have something illegal about them. No normal citizen feels that fear..
  9. So i went to my book. The flow timing pump used, puts out 750 PSI. I dont have that. It also said the the removal of the delivery valve to spill time it is an Emergency method. Ok, whatever... I listen to you guys who have done this before. The inj. Pump i have is rebuilt. If i remove the #1 del.valve to do spill timing, will i hurt any of the work done to rebuild it? and can I use my 10 PSI electric fuel pump to supply the fuel to spill time it ? Also, the book showed using air pressure with the out put line in a bottle of water, and watching for bubbles. I have an air drier, so i can keep water out of the air flow. Personally, i hope my small fuel pump is good enough because i would rather push diesel through it than air. What say you guys ? Thank you vey much for helping me with this.. Jojo
  10. Yes.. it is stamped ENDT. i assume you are asking about the manifold having the oil port for the turbo?
  11. No piston cooling nozzles, i mounted the oil manifold today. I wasnt holding my tongue right. Thanks for checking in on this. Truth is ,,,, since i never built one of these, the bolt-on stuff was a challenge for me. Crazy part is that i built the long block without a concern. I guess because i have built more than 30 Mack engines after 1989, and saw a lot of similar/standard procedures. If that makes sense. My wife says, I doubt myself too much. Anyway.. I will be back here when I flow time the injection pump. Im greatful for you guys.. Jojo
  12. Hi have Hi-Tack, and I believe a friend gave me that fancy wrench.
  13. Make sure the cylinder is down. Measure what came out in gallons and you may need to add 2+ gallons to get it to the right level. But since it was chattering when going up. Just put back the amount that came out and retest. The chattering may have been from the thin tranny fluid. Tjc? What do you think?
  14. Here is another example of the sickness within the Dem Party. They are fighting for Abrego Garcia, a know human trafficker, and MS-13 member who beats his wife, and yet Leaders from Maryland are livid about his treatment. A man that is likely responsible for prostitution and deaths.. But ... they will kill a fetus in a flash.. Harsh comparison?? Yes, but its true!!
  15. The one i pulled out was one piece. But i see why it should be 2 pc.
  16. No. Its not being converted to spin ons.. I thought i had made a mistake identifying the oil manifold mounting. When i went to my Book I was looking at the ESI section, and thought I had the wrong parts. my lack of knowledge on these engines is why im asking questions. Im getting close to finishing it and dont need to mess up now. The owner wants his engine soon.
  17. Dave.. I wish you were here to teach me ..
  18. I should be there.. it will be a while. The B frame is painted and on stands. I did the TRD-72 for it 3 years ago. There is a lot more to be done. Like, all the hoses.. that will be a treat. I have the old ones.
  19. I think so.. i guess i was thinking i needed a tall filter stand for spin on filters. I will look again tomorrow. I had to walk away.
  20. here is what the basket case looks like now. definately not a rattle can rebuild..
  21. It amazes me that all of a sudden, the liberal Dem. Cities are saying that they have a lower crime rate that goes back up to 30 years and they don't need the national guard.. B.S. ... Crime is not reported or prosecuted, thats why any number is dropped. Certainly not 30 years worth.. These Lib. Dems. Want crime... What a bunch of P.O.S. people.. It is wrong for me to wish for them to fall victim to their policies, but..... They need to..
  22. True. But this engine was a basket case when I got it. I wish I took pictures of it and the many boxes of parts when i went to get it..
  23. Thanks Bud. I will look again tomorrow. I have the day off from work, so I will make a good go of it. I have a parts engine to look at again as well. If I ever do another 673, i will be better prepared. 🍻
  24. Im glad you posted 'fjh'..
  25. Is it possible that the mounting on the block is the same as well as the porting, and the manifold that mounts to it determines if it is ESI or not as well as having an oil port for a turbo?
