  1. theres not enough info.. are they old? are they new? are they on the front drive incorrectly? anyway.. I guess we wait for him to post more info and pictures.. jojo
  2. Thanks guys.. Next step is to take it off the stand and put it on the wooden pallet that is made for these and then I can finish priming it for paint and then groom it.. Oil + fuel filter pads, compressor and fuel lines and so on..
  3. Well I spent a good bit of time in my shop this weekend. I got the E-Tech to a happy place, after receiving the cam key and lifters mid week. Funny thing is.... I realized today that this engine kit didnt come with the oil pan gasket and insulators, like other PAI kits i've used..
  4. were you the guy that texted me today about doing a road call?
  5. Paul... you speak a great truth.. however, here in this land we throw stuff in the trash.. and I'm sure his slack adjust is automatic. you speak of a manual slack adjuster, which works perfectly. just needs to be checked regularly.. thanks again for posting a real repair... jojo
  6. No more mobile work.. I have a cushy city job now.. I just build Mack engines and transmissions in my shop.. sorry bud.. jojo
  7. Yep, totaly agree.. Thanks. They have an extra day this year.. Yippie !!!
  8. What style are they ? Where on the truck are they, just curious.
  9. Is there an ABS switch under the dash above the clutch pedal. It's an orange lighted switch..
  10. It's an 8 spd with 2 lo holes and multi speed reverse.. I really like that transmission..
  11. 20 minutes into CBS news tonight,, talk about Russia/Ukraine,,, Trump,,, but nothing about our southern border issues.. I know,,,, no surprise... I'm just pissin in the wind ... jojo
  12. The '08 is probably an MP-7.. Because of my knowledge, I would rather rebuild the RD and have at the least a half million mile truck, than have to deal with any MP..... and an 8 LL is one of my favorite dump/vocational transmissions.... I'm a ''Negative Nelly'' when it comes to MP's.... Jojo
  13. I have an idea... Can you run the truck to temperature, then crawl under and touch the rear countershaft bearing covers looking for a hotter one, and also, check the rears for high heat. Sometimes the noise travels through the drive shaft..
  14. the ground wires are gray, is there a loose ground at the signal switch?
  15. Not sure, may not be.. another possible cause would be too much pre load on the rearward bearings.. I'm trying to stay away from going too deep into this. It's hard to diagnose this one without hearing it and driving the truck.
  16. What I found, was to be as dry as possible when cleaning. There is no filter for incoming air. If you work in dusty conditions, any extra moisture will cause it to clog sooner. I don't have a cure-all for this issue. I've just done my common procedure. I had it down to less than 30 minutes... There were many RD's in my life
  17. I bet they were pre loaded, and pushed themselves loose, or they werent tight and they were side loaded.. Can you re-set the PTO's, or do you have to hire someone?
  18. Busted,, Yeah , I didnt ever paint the Mack tranny's.. they werent painted in the first place...
  19. the transmission was re-built.. When I used to rebuild transmissions, I stripped them clean.. when the transmission was done I would hook air to it and bench test it for shiftability including range shifting. I would put the stick on it and hook shop air to the shift cover, run all lines correctly and use my home made crank to operate the transmission and all its gears and ranges. then I would set the PTO'(s) and be done..
  20. I bet the PTO's need shimming.. can you do that or will you bring it back to the shop for a warranty repair?
  21. I would put my money on hard discharge pipe coming off the compressor.. They clog up with carbon... PITA to replace.. unhook the far end of it and start the engine, i bet flow will be low. jojo
  22. I read over the postings again. I wouldnt dig in too deep right now. since its been a while, maybe start over and check for air flow issues. did you pull the top rear cover to see if the shift fork bolt is loose? Since you live in Kernersville, Transource is right there .. can they figure it out for you? jojo
