I wonder if the groove was for an E-Clip.. -
Im not sure on the gap size for a Lipe clutch, but the newer ones are set to 1/2" between clutch brake and throughout bearing, and 1/8" between fork tips and throughout bearing. Sorry i dont know the metric numbers . I guess 13 mm and 3 mm...

Set the clutch gaps first, then, if needed go to the arm.

Can you use a propane torch with care to heat the old gasket to soften it up. -

Bob.... I did not use sealer at this time. When i am sure that i will not remove the covers again, i may put a light coating on one side of the gasket, however, the rubber gaskets were good quality. -
You reckon he can use a temperature gun on the exh manifold to find the bad cylinder?

Ok. So you suspect raw fuel as the source of the white smoke? You say its a '91 E-6... Shouldnt it be an E-7? And has the injection pump timing been changed or checked recently? When was valve lash checked last?

Adding to my last post.... If you were to get original/first gen E-Tech studs and nuts. The studs torque to 20 lbft, but be aware of the lower studs going in too far. Protrusion is 1 3/4".... The final torque on the nuts is 80 lbft... The updated nuts are torqued to 100 lbft. -

The nuts for the exh. manifold are not brass or copper, i have forgotten the grade if steel that they are. Those nuts torque to 100lbft. -

Oh hell. I have one if those... Get ready to get splashed.. put a hose with a brush on the end of it. Mine quit pumping after a bit. I used diesel instead of varsol.. good luck.. -
