  1. Nicely done, but poorly planned. Should have taken a whole platoon of "after-hours" bar patrons with him and really put a dent in the liqour store stock.
  2. Welcome, expect to find advice by the spoonful.......expertise, a healthy dash, but never disappointment.
  3. I'm loving it. When it hit -25 my car saw a considerable horsepower increase. Nice, dense, cold, oxygen-rich air feeding the pistons........Combined with a frozen starter that stays engaged while the engines running to give me Nitro-power in the low RPM range. Sorta like a Prius, only tragic.
  4. Happy New Year BMT!!!! North side of the iceberg is not much friendlier......when it hit -25 I had an engine spit out an Intake Valve bridge on the start cycle. INTAKE SIDE! Weird. I can see the exhaust getting gooey/sticky and valves froze open till the piston slaps'em shut.........but never an intake? Get out your ice auger extensions folks!!
  5. Anybody take a swing at keeping China from sneaking under the Christmas tree this year? Volvo is still pure with only 8.2% China. Your average American Christmas tree was housing an 85% Chinese share if not for Grandma's 20 pounds of homemade fruitcake. My kids came home with Chinese made candy one day. Tossed it out as fast as I could read the label. After the poison dog food, poison drywall that fumed toxic corrosive gases, cabmium laced drinking glasses, toxic "ShiR fresh" toothpaste, Carcinogenic fish products, etc, etc.... how could you risk it.
  6. Lord's richest blessings on your Christmas and a Happy New Year. For all the political debating of 2017 the Lord's provided final closure one night in Bethlehem...... "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this."
  7. Up in the middle of the night last week, working on the ice shack. Bored with the usual channels. Turned on Coast to Coast to hear Greg Noory coaxing strange confesssions out of mentally ill people (guy should be face-whipped with wet noodles for what he does). Don't feel sorry for the mentally ill people, they are having fun being on the radio. Started hearing the Alien apocolypse stories rolling in about "Oumuamua". Pretty interesting little tidbit despite. The asteroid, now dubbed ‘Oumuamua (scout or messenger in the Hawaiian language), is dark red in color, similar to objects from the far reaches of our own solar system. The authors conclude it’s most likely a lump of metal-rich rock without much water or ice that has been reddened by millions of years of bombardment by cosmic rays as it crossed interstellar space. The surprise was that the light coming from it pulsed in brightness by a factor of 10 every 7.3 hours, suggesting both that it is spinning rapidly and is 10 times longer than it is wide—more elongated than anything known among our planets. They estimate that its mean radius is about 100 meters and its length is about 800 meters. Researchers believe that such visitors may zip through our neighborhood about once a year, but they’re usually too small to see. They’ll be watching extra keenly now that they’ve bagged their first one. Astronomers continue to monitor ‘Oumuamua as it fades into the distance, trying to figure out where it might have come from and where it will go next. Here's our original story, published on 27 October: Around the world, telescopes are swiveling to welcome, and then wave farewell to, a new guest to the solar system: a fast-moving asteroid, or potentially a comet. It could be the first interstellar object to visit the solar system that has been detected and observed by astronomers, NASA announced yesterday.
  8. Seems to be the case. You and I (as kids) use to jack our arm up and down at passing trucks to get the big rig to blow it's horn. Flip open your phone and apparently these simpletons will destroy their truck and kill themselves in a roll over for entertainment. Honestly, As a child I would have picked a roll over over a horn blow.......especially a popsicle reefer.
  9. It's probably COPD, santa usually does a triple hit. Try Ipratropium. Let us know if that fixes it.
  10. Nasty. Stuff like that can push a customer right into a brand X. Was it a 460? My buddy is getting a 5 bunk, tri-axle log trailer to stick behind the Granite tractor we have been tweeking. Stories like yours make me nervous. He is a born operator, but I'd gamble a lot of these guys are also.
  11. Cayman Island....You need a mechanic? It is suppose to be -11 degrees here Monday, so I would have to start tomorrow.
  12. I'm keeping a tally in my head. Always felt 460HP was a cruel request for that block. Macncheese recently lost his heads too. He had the hot rod AI467HP (at the wheels) engine. You know these guys are running sanely because it's their truck.
  13. Got my vote on upper EUP kit. You installed everything right. Think laterally and away from the block-fit O-rings.
  14. Keep'em Honest 58!!! Best treatment I've ever got was from Browning Arms/FN (Fabrique Nationale). Was into shooting, hunting and reloading. I ran some top end loads through it and eventually snapped a cam pin and locked the gas action while hunting (luckily no follow up shot required ). Could not bust the action free. Gun was 16 years old and they fixed it for free.
  15. Give the turbo impeller a spin too. Most of the time the turbo either puts up or gives up (chunks). On occasion we have found a turbo gaining drag in it's center bearing. When I tuned up my buddies '98 PLN the compressor side was slowly chewing itself skinny, but had not blown and still made enough boost to pull. Don't look at center slop/play.....only house contact.
  16. Had a DMM come in with a solid core once. Could not get a rod through any of the core galleries. Installed a new core and reused the tanks. good2go.
  17. Are all of them leaking??? Or just the original leakers still leaking?
  18. We have multiple plants in the deep south. The North plant observation is that southern folks work long enough to afford a really nice bass boat. Once they enter the post-bass-boat-purchase portion of their life..........work efficiency and attendance never recovers.
  19. Only thing not consistant is the coolant filter blowing out. It should be on its own closed loop with the water pump, as far as I can tell.
  20. You should have A 16 lbs cap. thermostat update was 2-15-06. You have two dimple flats for punching the top of thermostat housing, one will say 520 and one will say 521P2. If the dimple is punched by 521P2 you are current. My money also is on checking debris screen. Everything, including compressor return, is going to go through the oil cooler protection screen. So you may be working toward cooking that new compressor too.
  21. I'd think an 07 will have the thermostat housing port update from Factory.
