do you have a rego number someone maybe able to work backwards and find out chassis number ect and if you can do that well you are proberly half way there to finding it if you can get the chassis number maybe the Mack museum can help by telling you the motor trans ect I can tell you the back end is 44000 lbs they look like 22 or maybe 24 inch rims and you say its a thermodyne all this stuff helps to narrow the search window good luck like the picture a piece of family history there if you have any other pictures chuck them up plenty of blokes much smarter than me on here will be able to tell a lot more than I can Paul

interesting at least I think that at in the late 60's when Maxidynes first got released in Aussie land there was a road test between Melbourne and Sydney and although other brands of trucks would out run them on the flat and it felt to the person testing the Mack that it was a lot slower the driver who drove it all the time told the tester man dont worry we will round them up pretty soon over all trip time was quicker than any other truck the fuel was a lot less and what does all this have to do with a 7 speed maxi torque not much but it goes to show that just because it feels slower dont mean it is driven right these trucks will just about out perform any other truck on the market today in real terms as in the only thing that matters dollars in your pocket at the end of the day Paul

Vlad the yellow truck is a Federal 1942 ex army think it was a tank transporter Swishy I think its a old army tank transporter 604 M model and it says 1942 on the plate Id have to flush out some pics from some were and load them up one day Paul those old trucks along with Diamond T's were used as the first road trains WW2 Diamond T was geared lower and weighed more but was slow Federals were slow but no quite as slow 22 MPH I put a spicer joey box in mine around the wrong way gear it up 2.5 - 1 not enough power then with the Cummins it had in it HB600 so I put a 671 GM still not bucket loads of go but you get there a bit quicker

thats one clean factory they have got there I sought of expected to see high vise vests one question why does everyone were gloves in the US princess asked and I couldnt for the life me think why I dunno is all I came up with but from cowboys years ago to to truck factories today and almost everything in between people in the US seem to were gloves were as out here its the exact opposite no gloves maybe if your welding Paul thanks for the link

yep as above showed what people wanted tough reliable cost effective trucks that worked hard all day every day in any conditions wonder what might of changed ?? WOW you all might surprised at how little room it takes to turn that around remember if the front goes the rest must follow !!! reckon it would have too be around 150 ton . Whole stick cane dosnt pack in very well it wont be as much cane as one might think reckon south America some were but could be anywhere but wont be Australia as we only have chopped cane whole stick cane went out in the 60's thanks for sharing Paul
