  2. I was just thinking ( I know I shouldnt ) can you just imagine going to Mack today and saying I want 11 trucks got to be able to haul off road for carrying over 100 tons each in minus 60 and they need to flex like this and go thru water this deep oh yeah the boys need to be able to heat them up with a blow torch and no computers at all and we need these in 9 weeks or less !!! I dont want sell Mack of today short and say they wouldnt but what do you all think gone are the days of not making excuses and just getting the job done

  5. well worth the wait would you believe I searched for a film on this on youtube within the last 12 months and found nothing thanks MHfred for the link R600 RD600 I now how to put it on to a DVD but Im not sure we are allowed either way you can save it to your computer pretty easy Perhaps it could be a chance do some sought of fund raiser for some club in the states I dont no maybe DVD and a copy of Vision 386 poster either way a great way to spend fathers day then I had to explaine to the lad and princess what the Dew line is or was and then to the lad what the cold war was I think the thing that moves me the most or shocks me the most is how we in the western world could just get stuff done imagine trying that today there would ten years of enviromental impact studys followed by greenies chaining them selves to lumps of ice the trucks wouldnt pass some calafornia pollution law and I suppose the hardest thing to find would be blokes to do the work we owe those men and there wives that let them go a lot thanks lads Paul
  6. to me the only simple option is if you had another truck the same you could swap the drive shaft with another truck if the problem shifts the problem is in the drive shaft aside from that maybe a balancer issue maybe the input shaft to the gearbox was damaged or the bearing in the front of the box ? I started typing the needle rollers between the input and out put shafts in the box but then I had a thought !!!!!!!!! they arent spinning when youre in top gear well at least they arent in a Mack box but the input and output shafts are only carried on the bearings at each end when your in top gear so maybe the the those needle bearings between the two shafts help to cancel out the vibration but it cant when your in top gear because they are not spinning as in the shaft is coupled together I dont no if this makes any sense anyway disregard if Im waffling to much Paul
  7. OK OK WOW Im like a kid on christmas day almost being as it is fathers day in Australia tomorrow I am going to exercise some restraint and save it up I can sit and share with my teenage son its gonna be a grand old day and the best bit is I can watch it again and again with him and if the princess is good she will be allowed to join us after all its my day surely I cane be in charge once a year lol Enough waffle from me you blokes have problerly seen these before they were in a Bulldog magazine Aussie version picked it up at Townsville guessing 2007 so if you have all seen these please excuse me either way I looking forward to tomorrow and my turn to watch seeyas and if its fathers day tomorrow in the rest of the world have a good one Paul

  11. Gudday with out knowing what size ass end you have but I do no that 44000 lbs and 58000 lbs look the same almost from the out side but the bearings and seals are a lot bigger in the 58's the brakes I think are the same size though but I could be wrong I guess the first thing you need to do is find out what size axle's you had and what size you are trying to change to Paul

  17. welcome aboard mate now to show how dumb I am is this an electronic motor or a mechanical injection pump type of motor? the two things I know for sure number 1 black smoke is unburnt diesel number 2 this is always [ as far as I know ] caused by either to much fuel or not enough air so I suppose I would disconect the air cleaner and go for a drive and see if it still blows smoke if it does well your half way there [ you no its getting to much fuel ] Paul
  18. and if the shaft is to short they can fall out when going thru big gutters you need to get goldilocs on the job it needs to be just right Paul

  20. might be more more than just one thing hiding in the background you blokes have sharper eyes than me that is one cool looking truck Paul
  21. It's not coming out of what ever the gear was when you rolled to a stop and when you put it in first gear you are then getting stuck in two gears it will be a cheap fix will have to pull the floor out and see whats not lined up or what has worn off then just weld the piece up that has worn down or adjust dog on the rod in the top of the box to close the gap up ( you will see what Im on about when you have the top off the box ) I reckon it will take longer to get all the stuff out of the cab than it will to fix the problem wont be the clutch as it only happens in one gear oh yeah welcome and what a great looking truck looks real handy for bringing all sorts of bargins home gotta love the tail gate lifter This fix I reckon you should be able to do your self no problem at all Paul
  22. mate the grease wont run out centrifical force will see to that it dont matter how hot it gets but I could be wrong when we grease uni's always grease till new grease comes out all 4 cups very rare any thing fails Paul

  24. you have got to kidding me talk about the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen fair dinkum what a pack of knobs fancy wasting money on that wouldnt they be better off spending there money building real motors again or maybe even real cabs that are all steel you see to many roo's on the road as it is tearing of clearance lights fuel lines air lines and the list goes on what are we gonna end with a roo on the bonnet instead of a dog we all know you aint driving a real truck unless your looking at a dogs ass all day and they wonder why they have trouble selling trucks now bl__dy w__kers need to get back to making reel trucks that pull the ass out of the ocean and will do it all day long year in year out with no electronics to let go but as I've said before what would I know sweet F A Paul
