  1. Has been a interesting year for a lot of us, keep onlugging away at things and you will be surprised at the progress you make Paul
  2. Im guessing you could if the bonnet (hood) was a fiberglass one If it is a steel bonnet (hood) I dont think you could as it has to bolt onto the cab, unless you do what they do with sleeper cabs in Australia and mount the bonnet (hood) and cab all on the sub frame and the bonnet (hood) and cab moved as one Paul
  3. Well turbo motors dont make boost for only a couple of reasons Lack of fuel or lack of air Does it blow black smoke when its trying to make boost ? If so your lacking air If theres no smoke then I would say a lack of fuel Paul
  4. If you were in Australia you would just toddle on down to your nearest Mack dealer as they always seem to have them sitting there, surly the States cant be that much different Paul
  5. A classic Australian band Paul
  6. Doesn't really get that cold out here but reckon its a great idea Paul
  7. I guess you all are lucky things have worked out ok for the family I still dont know anyone that has had the virus here in Australia so I have no opinion about how severe it is The thought about ones immune system makes sense to me I haven't watched the news on TV since 2007 so I am really dum and only get what filters thru to me from social media and family and friends Stay safe over there in Yanky land and the rest of the world Paul
  8. Just watched this, how fantastic I thought, plenty of Scania action fir KS if he still drops in. Love the mutton chops on some of these fellas Anyway I enjoyed it Paul https://youtu.be/2MFe34eP6U4
  9. Yes happy Christmas to all, interesting Rowdy, got me talking to people about all the stuff we used to do as kids that would be quite llame these days Paper chains, paper lanterns, and we only ever got one special thing and everything else was clothing World has changed a lot, you all stay safe and healthy into 2021 Paul
  10. If that's what it is it will still be pretty steady and 50 MPH or there abouts at full revs Paul
  11. Nope sorry, make sure you have no leaks in the return half of the system as this will cause it to loose prime over night So all the hoses between the injectors, the air start if fitted as well as the line to the tank Paul
  12. Remember that what ever you count you have to times it by two if you only have one wheel off the ground Paul
  13. I would guess the gearing would be in the 8 somethings given its age and what most trucks were like back then No matter what it ends up been its a neat looking truck Paul
  14. Got plenty of axles there, how mucg weight does it allow you to shift Paul
  15. Well I'm officially jealous 😁😆, how good is that ? 😛😍 Paul
  16. I think most tyres are from China or India now, even the good brands Paul
  17. I do miss his input, I hope he is only busy with life but fear it maybe more As always we shouldn't speculate as none of us have any idea as far as I know Paul
  18. Freshly flogged from Facebook Early 90's apparently Paul
  19. Did it have a bend in chassis behind the cab, or at the back of the cab ? Western Traders had a 6x6 Flinstone many years ago that wasnt ex army Came out with some oil drilling mob is what they told me Had a drop in the chassis rails at the back of the cab Paul
  20. Yes they do look like a biscuit breaker, or very similar to them I have some biscuit breakers that are slightly different, give me a few days (around 10 or so) when I get home after Chrissy and I'll have a measure Paul
  21. Could well of been, "intrinsically safe" is proper name, in other words, explosion proof or spark proof If it failed it wouldn't cause a spark Australian fuel trucks were generally very lightly specced, so if it has 34 ass end or something along those lines and is single rail it probably was a fuel truck There are no doubt other tell tale signs if you new the right person to ask As I understand it each fuel company had their own specific requirements and I feel these even varied from state to state So if you new the right person to ask you could probably narrow it right down quite easily Paul
  22. I would say oil as bob has suggested, if it leaks like sieve I would just use grease but yours looks pretty good in the photo Paul
  23. Not so long ago (at least in my mind) all trucks were as you described but now the bigger fleets tend to have just white with vinyl sign writing I would guess 70% are still done up like a dunny truck However our biggest fleets in Australia are still custom painted Dunno about Kiwi land, once this Covid 19 drama is over I wanna load Mrs Mack up on a boat and toodle over to Kiwi land and have a look around for a few years, I'll report back then lol The calender has the big photo of how the truck was when new and then say maybe half a dozen photos of it as it went thru different owners with the last how it is today A really top job by all involved in the calendar Paul
