  1. I am looking for a couple of Velvac split mirror heads. These are not shown in there current catalog but were original equipment on a Ford F800, 1989 vintage
  2. Yes That brings back memories. I used to get more air. What surprised me the fist time was how soft you could make the landing Could not do it in a winch truck but I could make my shieve truck do it on any heavy box
  3. The ribs of the steel bed are not much more comfortable. A blazer without the back seat, tinted windows and carpet, that was high school. A new Toyota 4X4, a leer top and carpet over the steel bed, that reminds me of college. I had lots of fun in the back of both vehicles.
  4. That used to be normal for us loading stump boxes on the mack roll offs
  5. I have two of the fords a F800 and a FT900 both with the 7.8 and Allison
  6. I like the trailer it is sitting on Any info on the trailer?
  7. I heard that comment about no evidence of a pre existing fire. I will tell you from my experience as an expert witness that eye witness testimony can be very bad. You need to look at there first statement and only deal with the big points. I can see a car hitting the fuel tank and breaking a fitting off. I wonder if fuel spraying on the hot exhaust would ignite. I had the same thought about the fire rendering the driver unconscious
  8. Polosi gave a speech here in Los Angeles stating that now with Obamacare health care is a right and no longer restricted to the privileged few! This means that those of us that work for a living and have had healthcare are the privileged few! What a croc. I do know quite a few people that are self employed and had there existing insurance canceled due to Obamacare. The best I can figure out is that Obamacare has outlawed the cheap basic insurance that the 20 and 30 year old generation typically has and forced them to buy more expensive insurance to fund the plan.
  9. I like the site for pick ups
  10. The MT643 has torque converter lock up in 3rd and 4th. I have them in both of my fords. When properly setup they are a good trans. I like them when driving in traffic and for parades. But I do miss the two stick.
  11. Build a fiberglass top that attaches to the existing mounted points.
  12. Take your time and keep spraying it with your favorite snake oil, wire brush the surface rust off. When it comes time to remove the nut if there is a lot of thread exposed you can clean up the threads with a die. The big thing to remember is loosen the nut up until it stops moving then screw it back on and clean up the threads and repeat.
  13. It still has the light bar so you could run code 4 to deliver the manure and crew
  14. They have the original factory plug installed where the bottle should go.
  15. I see that on another site I belong too. The moderators or the police but they are also the offenders but they do not see it.
  16. The green truck was under coated before they installed anything in the cab and it is very clean. The white truck is getting a replacement cab because of the rust.
  17. I am glad it is not close to me or I might get it.
  18. The truck was originally delivered to Port Hueneme. The truck was later loaned to CBMU 303 from 1996 until it was surplussed, that is the reason the beep sticker is white and not red. The picture was not taken in the US. When we tore the interior of the truck apart we found a current map of Baghdad behind the glove box.
  19. I grew up on the east coast always seeing the mack running around in the construction industry. In the late 80's I drove several mack r and DM series trucks. I delivered lumber in a three axle R series with a steel bed. I also drove an R series tractor hauling a 40 foot flatbed carrying lumber. Later I drove a 1974 DM600 roll off truck. All of these trucks had the two stick trans in them. My current toy is a Ford FT900 that was used by the US NAVY SEABEES. This truck is all wheel drive. This is the truck in military service This is the truck now My current project is a F800 tractor that was originally purchased as a parts truck for the FT900 but it ran to nice
