The shifter on my auxiliary transmission, Rockwell T226 transfer case, has an annoying rattle. The shifter consists of a loose clevis joint at either end of the rod and a metal shifter bolted to the floor of the cab. I added nylon washers to the lever pivot to take up the slop I have temporarily reduced the noise by running a bungee cord from the rod to the bed but it is still annoying The hole in the floor is covered by a thin piece leather, originally there was just a 2"x4" hole in the floor. The front clevis is a pain in the ass to get to and the pin on the clevis on the transmission is frozen in place. How can I quiet this noise down

Are the frame rails one piece or is that a z bracket in there to do the offset? Tulsa Equipment used to convert trucks using what they called a z bracket to keep the rear frame at standard height for a fifthwheel. What front axle and transfer case are in it, for that matter what are the specs?
