  1. Yes, it started with the new top hole being to close to an old hole Ford emailed me this morning that my parts are sitting in will call
  2. According to the local diesel pump rebuilder, the pump needs to be rebuilt. I have not found a mobile mechanic that is willing to work on a Mack engine but the pump shop will do the work. Since I am still waiting for the gaskets and some other parts I have been working on other projects. This is the frame before And this is it after Now for the sad part, Monday I discovered that I needed a part for the Ford FT900. I emailed the old part number and vin to ford at 4 pm and by 10 the next morning I had the parts ordered, it will be here in 5 to 7 days, no shipping charges. Ford still supports these old trucks, to a point, but Volvo has hung Mack out to dry
  3. I am looking for an air tank for a truck I am working on the tank needs to be 7" in diameter and about 36" long Does anyone have a tank like this or know where I can get one
  4. Is it not working during the application of the service or parking brake or both
  5. I want to see more pictures But it does look funny without the driver side stack on that sleeper, I think it would look better with a custom sleeper
  6. This was for sale in Southern California back in may
  7. Why not just get the Hendrickson AR2 and then you have an air ride walking beam suspension
  8. I am beginning to feel that way about Mack's now. I can get parts easier and faster for a 1989 Ford F800 or FT900 than a 1985 Mack RS688LST. I can't even ask the dealer about the 1975 RS685LT, they just tell me that I gave them the wrong vin
  9. Look at the picture of the fifth wheel and zoom in on the top of the forward axle, it shows some nice rust. Not bad for a New Jersey truck
  10. Your not supposed to drink the whole keg buy yourself
  11. Is there an easy way to differentiate between the AD-4 and AD-9? It looks like on the AD-9 the control port is located just above and to the left of the supply port. It looks like on the AD-4 the control port is several inches to the left of the supply port like this photo
  12. What is the difference between the AD-4 and AD-9?
  13. Based on this picture it looks looks like that line controls the purge valve Is that correct?
  14. On my air dryer there is a small hose going from the air dryer to the air compressor governor. My air dryer needs to be replaced and I am considering just eliminating it for a hobby truck in California If I eliminate the air dryer what do I do with this little hose?
  15. In the run position it is a hard stop It travels about 1", approximately half its original travel, towards the stop position and stops like it is bound up. If I crank the engine it may sometimes travel the full stroke but most of the time is limited to this partial travel
  16. I put the rebuilt lift pump in, along with new hoses and filters. After priming the truck ran good. That night it started right up after sitting for 5 hours. Today it was back to its old self in the morning but did start easily Now it has a new issue the fuel shut off lever will not move its full travel, it appears to be stuck in the run portion and won't rotate to the stop position. It moves about half of what it used to and the truck will not start So I am at a loss, what happened
  17. Once you determine the length and end fitting style you can get a speedometer cable made any length or just order a universal one Do an internet search and a lot will come up
  18. Have you tried to call the two people listed in the add to see is they have any information? Have you contacted gov deals and asked them to get you in contact with the buyer?
  19. My information for the suffix is as follows T - Tractor S - Six wheel chassis L - Light weight components X - Extreme duty Before Don Schumaker retired you could get a copy of the FS2 form (Factory Order) practically overnight, but now it takes months to get the information. His knowledge is missed.
  20. The shop I got 4 tires from last month used one and they made it look like nothing to mount tires. But the reality is there is a skill to it. At another shop I watched two guys mount my 4 tires. The old guy mounted his two, did the third and then helped the kid who was still struggling with his first tire.
  21. At least the mechanic could shift, it could have been worse, he could have just ground it into gear.!
  22. Please give me the part numbers I have the grill denser on mine, which is in place of the original center grill What did you do for the grill? Can you post some pictures of the condenser installation? Did you switch the compressor from the York style to the saden style?
  23. What do you have to change to convert from R-12 to R-134?
