  1. Right now I can't work on the truck until my knee heals from surgery last week So right now I am planning the attack on the fuel system, looking for a source for my power window motor and a 60" sleeper My bride was nice enough to take me to look at some cars over the weekend
  2. Margeritas are better any summer day Or hot chocolate with some rum during the California winter
  3. Once started it is easy to start after 4 to 8 hours it does crank more than I like but nothing like first thing in the morning
  4. The MT series has been around since 1961
  5. Is there a us source for that? All of the ones I have seen are custom built and vary widely
  6. Your current setup is a short fifth wheel trailer and a dolly. You could probably lower the deck height by 6" or more by using a turntable trailer. Do you really need a three axle trailer? Have you considered some aluminum corner protectors with a pocket added so you could place them with a square ended pole and use the same pole to adjust the straps after you throw them over the load. That way you can minimize the climbing. Do use a ladder, if you lower the trailer deck to match the truck you can get a step ladder and add a hook for the rub rail. Work safely One of my nicknames growing up around boats was monkey because I would climb or crawl into just about any spot. Now I have multiple 4, 5 and 6 foot stepladders, thank you Home Depot and Lowes Black Friday sales
  7. At least they were talking English
  8. According to the information I received from the Mack museum the passenger side power window unit shown in the photo was factory installed. This unit is on its last legs and needs to be replaced. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement unit? Was there originally a cover on the unit?
  9. The truck is military surplus so who knows what was specified by the government or if it was a COTS purchase off of the dealers lot. Have you ordered the build sheet from the dealer?
  10. You need a bigger dog house! The dog is supposed to be in the doghouse not carrying it!
  11. It would be perfect for moving your mobile home
  12. That looks a lot like the glove box latch that was used by Kaiser Willys Jeep on the M38A1, may also be used on CJ5's
  13. Actually amazon is not that bad when you do an internet search and see that a lot of other places are around $30
  14. I just got my paperwork from the Mack museum yesterday, it only took them 3 months, and the steering is listed as garrison
  15. I have seen quite a few over the road trucks in which it looks like you can't lock to power divider
  16. We used to add remote breathers on trucks growing up. For trucks that did occasional water crossings we ran the breathers to the top of the firewall You also need to deal with the intake For trucks that worked in the swamp we also set them up to pressurize the transmission, transfer case and axles to 5 psi
  17. We're the batteries properly secured and all of the terminals insulated? We're the four propane tanks the small screw on ones? I had an issue with the valve on a partial one leaking
  18. Do you have a source and part numbers for R model weather striping? I need to do the entire doors on two trucks soon
  19. I think a lot of the cops are the kids that were picked on in high school and now they on a vengeful power trip. This cop might have gone to school with the cop that told me I needed a class B CDL to drive a three axle truck and that I could not drive a three axle truck with my class A CDL. I stumped him by asking if I could drive a car with my class A
  20. I use the power divider frequently I have been told not to use it any more than necessary on dry pavement and never engage the power divider when the truck is moving I have a 1989 truck with 25,000 miles on it with the Hendrickson four spring suspension on it and it would spin a tire on the driveway and not move until I locked the power divider when it was empty. This problem went a way when we replaced the suspension bushings, they were cracked and seized from lack of use.
  21. Mine is stamped 12 74 and it is on a 1975 truck I have always assumed that the numbers were the build date Your valve looks different from mine, can you post a picture of the entire valve
  22. This actually looks like a M816 not a M819 The op may be referring to the ground spades that were typically carried on top of the boom
  23. Triple header, three ads containing three complete trucks and a parts truck.
