  1. Give me a 5.9 Cummins with an Allison in a new Chevy. We got fed up with the solid front axles and rebuilding them every 70,000 miles
  2. Yeah, and when anyone hitches even a small trailer to an eco boost they end up getting 10mpg. Where's the 6.2 Ford? The coyote motor? The diesel?
  3. I looked at a new Colorado with a diesel. Great engine, great truck and great mileage. Price......crazy. Why won't they make a 2wd manual diesel without every option? The only way to get the diesel is to buy a loaded one. Same with the Chevy Cruze diesel. My buddy has one and loves it but he had to get it with leather and everything.
  4. What happens when GMC sales totals are added to Chevrolet's? Ford also said the main reason for not bringing the ranger to the U.S. is because it'll take away from f series sales numbers. Are the numbers that important?
  5. You want your stall speed at 3/4 of your peak torque. So if your peak torque is 400 ft lbs you'll want a stall speed at the 300 ft lbs range. GM factory torque converters were usually an 1700-1800 stall
  6. Is that a spin on oil filter?
  7. That is actually a very good motor. If you're going to run in this business you'll have to put up with emissions, regulations, permits and newer trucks eventually. The worst part is if you're an owner/operator with 1-5 trucks you can't afford to get a bad truck. Personally, I've had perfect luck with anything newer than 2014. But if I bought a truck and it was outta warranty and gave issues, it could bankrupt me. If you're gonna stay in the business, bite the bullet and buy new. Buy the extended warranty and trade at 4-5 years. Or park your old ch and lease a new truck for a year.
  8. Sounds like the piolet end is flopping in the crank a little
  9. Whys that? How'd they compare?
  10. Haha, possibly. If it had a E9 in it I'd be all over that.
  11. That is a dandy!
  12. You'd have to shake my underwear out! I think he wanted to get the car to slide around the corner and it didn't.
  13. I like the Cummins in a pickup and a lot of the pickup's are good. But I kept trading for new dodge pickups because Chevy and Ford wouldn't give anything on trade for a Dodge. The Fever I had finally broke and I bought different. I just couldn't put up with the issues any more. My one kept burning out the little actuator for 4wd, dodges answer.......don't use auto 4wd and when you go to switch it into 4wd make sure the wipers are off, the blower fan isn't on high and make sure you're not using any power ports. It's a body control module issue and warranty doesn't cover it. But we'll help you out and do it for $800. That was the end.
  14. My mom has a new grand Cherokee diesel. The motor and tranny are excellent. The electronics are total shit. That damn shifter is the most over engineered, over thought piece of junk. If you've never drove one, you should. I said when she first bought this two years ago there will be a big recall on them. It's total asinine. It's typical Chrysler cool for two years, then it's dated.
  15. Is there power or fuel mileage loss?
  16. I have put steel doors on cabs that had the maxiglass doors.
  17. With body shop labor rates and being the cab is tweaked it'll cost an arm and a leg to repair. And it'll never be exactly right. There will always be wind noise or rattles. To swap the cabs doesn't take talent like body work does. Any one of us can change a cab out. But as for body work, a average fool like me could never do that on my own.
  18. In MN you'll see a dump truck that isn't 6 or 7 axles.
  19. Gotta love the soundtracks!
  20. Last six of my vin is 11994. 2001 cl with 18 SPD and has the relocator
  21. If it's air ride, check the ride height. Otherwise check carrier bearings and drive line. You can also do an oil analysis on the tranny.
  22. More like copy of the Kenworth "daylight door" I do love the visibility out of them and I don't miss the smokers windows.
  23. She junk. Find a cab. Way quicker and easier way to fix.
  24. Looks like a very young team.
  25. Actually my Titan only weighs 900 pounds more than my 2001 CL with a E7. Trucks are spec'd the same except the Titan has the big block (which makes up the 900 pounds).
