  1. Isn't that true.......I can't believe how bad a solid front axle handles and how expensive they are to maintain till we bought a new one. I remember saying when GM came out with independent front suspension how it'd never hold up, but wow was I wrong. I don't think we ever had a front axle make 70,000 miles without needing ball joints and knuckles. I give GM a ton of credit there. We've owned them all. Ford, dodge, Chevy and we are done with dodge for sure. The new super duties are a nice and technologically advanced but I think a guy has to trade them before 50,000 miles. Read this about Ford and government money. http://www.forbes.com/sites/joannmuller/2012/08/29/automakers-report-card-who-still-owes-taxpayers-money-the-answer-might-surprise-you/#3fea3b86a8cd
  2. Don't forget, Ford took bailout money too. Ford decided to cut their losses earlier and sold off Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar and other subsidiaries. And then there's Chrysler...........
  3. At least with bankruptcy comes new opportunities. When bought out by European companies that brings............?
  4. 3 cans would be 2 1/4 pounds
  5. Sometimes old is nice.
  6. Sounds like there is internal restriction somewhere. If it was completely plugged you would be pulling a vacuum on the low side. You could have gotten dirt in the system by accident when installing. Or the expansion valve could be partially blocked. Sometimes flushing will loosen junk up inside but you don't have the pressure to push it out. 250psi will push the gunk around where your shop air at 125psi couldn't. We use to use nitrogen to flush systems. More pressure and no moisture in it.
  7. That interior really looks and even sounds cheap. Sounds like at about 1 year old it'll be a rattle trap. The ruined the "elite" name for trim level. This is how an "elite" interior looks!
  8. That iveco rig is actually not bad looking.
  9. That darn retarded coolant...........
  10. Has this motor always had the same head on it over #5? Maybe the injector hole is drilled at a wrong angle? Just brainstorming.....
  11. E6 350 specs are 24ish psi
  12. This mp10 is a blast to drive. I gross 91,000 pounds daily, 18spd and 3.73 rears and this thing accelerates effortlessly. I have never drove a loaded E9 but I wonder if it's this good?
  13. Also replace the evaporator right away. More than likely it's plugged up with dust, hair, bugs and God knows what else. Keeping the inside of the cab clean helps keep the evaporator clean. You could pull it out and clean it but as long as it's out you might as well replace. Here's a list of what i replace. 1. Compressor 2. Expansion valve 3. Receiver drier 4. Evaporator 5. Pag oil Replace lines if needed otherwise flush the lines and condenser with a good a/c flush and nitrogen. I usually put 6 to 9 ounces of oil in the condenser, a few in the drier and evaporator and ALWAYS drain all the oil out of new compressor and put in the right amount. Usually 7-9 ounces. I have seen new compressors shipped empty when there was a tag on them that said filled. I have also seen them with 12+ ounces in them. Remember to oil all o-rings and crown system overnight.
  14. But I must say, I have had ZERO emissions issues with this truck in 2 years and 175,000 miles.
  15. Pretty sure, I was told I can get an Australian file and eliminate a lot of things.
  16. Liner protrusion good? Block deck is good? That'd be the center piston in the head so that is the "hot" one. It just really sounds like overfueling on that piston.
  17. That is a sharp truck! Their dash and gauges are a fail. My opinion, semi trucks should have wood dashboards, chrome gauges and toggle switches. Should never resemble a car interior.
  18. I know this sounds stupid but I'd replace the injection lines. Or at least number 5. If a previous owner put a wrong line on that can throw off injection timing on that cylinder. They all gotta be the same length.
  19. '93 was the end in North America. You could get mechanical E9, mechanical E7, or electronic E7. The biggest electronic E7 I have seen was a 400, I don't know if you could get them bigger?
  20. Anyone interested in the winch or ramps if I get it?
  21. That reminds me of one of those North Korean propaganda films.
  22. What about daylight savings time?
  23. I think so. The E7's I've always changed oil at 10,000 miles, but they recommend 40,000 on the mp10. I've been doing it at 25,000 so far. It holds almost 15 gallons of oil. Otherwise I'm pretty sure I'll run the overhead and do injectors at 250,000. And when warranty is off, so are the emissions.
  24. I saw a new Penner Freightliner cabover on I94 the other day in Minnesota
  25. I do injectors every 250,000 miles and I replace the check valve with them. Along with the return line, Jake o-rings, injector lines, thermostat and air filter. I have a 460 with 36,000 hours and 1,000,000 miles and haven't had an issue.
