    Another suggestion for trying to free up the engine is use a pry bar on the flywheel ring gear for a better gear advantage and as others have pointed out to go both ways along with checking the valve train for any sticking. Good Luck.

    My B 61 was sold new in Atlanta, Ga and it has shutters but no thermostat.
