  2. The buyer said the first thing he was going to do with was "advertise it". I think he was from FL so the first order of business would be to get it there. Here is the write up: The M925 is the standard cargo version of AM General’s M939 series of five-ton US military heavy trucks, developed in the 1970s to replace the M39 and M809. Built on a long-wheelbase chassis, it was equipped with drop sides to allow loading by forklifts. Other standard features included a front-mounted winch, bottom-hinged tailgate, side racks, troop seats, and overhead bows with a canvas cover. Like all M939 series trucks, the M925 has three axles and six wheels, all of which are powered by an 855-cubic-inch Cummins NHC 250 inline six-cylinder diesel engine producing 240 horsepower at 2,100 rpm and 685 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm. An Allison MT654CR five-speed automatic transmission with a two-speed transfer case sends power to all three axles. Production of the AM General M939 series ran from 1982 through 1987, with a large portion being retrofitted to the previous M809 chassis. This M925 has a delivery date of 8 October 1984 stamped on its identification number plate mounted to the dashboard. The truck features a front-mounted winch, distinctive camouflage pattern, and “Seabees” insignia on both doors, referring to the US Naval Construction Battalions (“CBs”) conceived as replacements for civilian construction companies in combat zones after the attack on Pearl Harbor. A true workhorse, this M925 could serve as an eminently capable hauler for a business, a head-turning parade vehicle, or an impressive collection piece for enthusiasts of US military machinery.

  5. That was probably me leaving. I didn't bring the truck due to an extended king pin replacement job. Yeah too bad the weather wasn't better. I'm sure there would have been a lot more trucks.

  7. Sorry to hear about your scary incident. I have the same habit of turning on the dishwasher late in the evening. I have thought of the "what if" but now it's time to change that habit. Glad things weren't any worse and hopefully you can get things repaired and back to normal.

  13. I was there today from 12 until 4 and missed you guys along with Matt's truck. Really wanted to see that beauty. The show area has gotten a lot larger in the past few years which means a lot more walking.
  14. I had a Garrison hydraulic assist power steering that worked fine but had serious leaks. I sent it out and had all new seals, o-rings and so forth put it. I also had new seals put in the hydraulic cylinder. When reinstalled there was serious wondering. The shop went back over the valve, no luck, same problem. They substituted a rebuilt one, same problem. I ended up taking the Garrison unit off to go back to manual steering. The drag link I found fits 1 1/2" balls and wouldn't you know my knuckle is 1 1/2" and the pitman arm is 1 3/4". The front axle is a FA 505 and the sector shaft at the steering box is 1.125. I came on this old post and wonder, Larry do you still the parts pictured? and if so what's diameter of the ball on the pitman arm?

  16. I noticed when I replaced the valve cover gaskets they seemed to bottom out on the mounts as mentioned not making a solid fit to the gasket. I did a bead of RTV to try and compensate. No leaks so far. Here is a picture of the shouldered bolt with a grove around it. I'm not sure what that was for.
  17. There should be a major electrical connection either at the starter or solenoid. It should go from there through the ammeter to the voltage regulator or maybe ignition system depending on how Mack did it. Hopefully you can find a wiring diagram for your model that shows the specifics.
