  1. Mark, You are right about Kennett Square. You sure don't want to drink the water either.

The rear tires are mud & snow tread. They were on the truck when I got it. I thought they would be noisy but there are plenty of other sounds to drown them out.
  3. I was at an antique car flea market today near Kennett Square, PA (SE corner of PA) and saw a L cab B-75 sitting behind a shop. The owner is an older gentleman that has several older Macks. This truck had the hood bent from snow sliding off of the roof this past winter. He said it hadn't been started for over a year. Also the engine and trans had been swapped and a 673 with a duplex was in it. Was a pretty nice truck other than the hood damage. He wasn't interested in selling it. Of course I did not have a camera. I think he said he bought it some years ago neat Lititz after the engine & trans swap.

Thanks C609T. This is the only one I have right now. Seems like every time I pick up the camera the battries are dead or for some reason I can't get them on the computer. I'd like to get a phone that does all of that but I need some more courage to do that.

I'm not sure what the Jehovah's Witness religion is all about either. We see them, usually on a Sat morning once or twice a year. They are always cordial, especially if they want to talk about old trucks. Randy P, I think I was near your area a few years ago. I have a friend in Mt Pleasant that deals in antique Cadillac parts. Nice garage. It looks like you have quite a few signs in there. Love the color on the Mack...I'm headed that way myself with mine. Thanks, I started collecting signs before the Pickers ran the prices up. I think your truck will be awesome in yellow. It makes them stand out.

Had a van pull in the driveway this morning and a young girl ( maybe 20-21) gets out with a handful of pamphlets walking toward me. She was from the Jehovah's Witnesses and started her pitch. She looked in the garage and asked "is that an antique Mack truck". From that point on the conversation was about Macks and how her father loved them. I took her brochure and told her to bring her father by some time. Here's shot from whre she was standing. I was impressed she knew her trucks.
  8. Thanks again for reporting the true story. It is a very sad situation for all involved and their families. Too bad we have to be subjected to all of the media bias when it comes to the news.
  9. I took my '60 B Model with power assist steering to have the toe set and both tie rod ends were the same thread. They had to take them loose along with the power assist bracket on the tie rod. It took about 1.5 hours and cost $140. The original setting was way out and after adjustment it made a big difference.
  10. That's a real prize. Hope you work it out.
  11. Not sure about the speedo but you can get a SW temp gauge with compatable sending unit (if it's electric) from Summit Racing. I switched my B Model from pos to neg ground and had to change the temp & fuel gauge along with the sending units. The cost is pretty reasonable. Good Luck, Harry
  12. Definately a cutie. It won't take long for him to win you over. Certainly not a replacement for Diesel but a new friend going forward.
  13. RIP for Diesel, his pain and suffering is over. His memory will be comfort for you. Harry.
  14. Very sad to hear. My heart goes out to you.
  15. I belong to several antique car clubs and a lot of different cars are using the Petronix set up. I looked on their website also and it looks like they have a conversion for just about everything but Mack. I see they have a search where you can use your distributor number. Aren't the Mack distributors Delco? Maybe you can find it that way.. Be interesting to see if they have it. Good Luck.
  16. Looks brand new, right off the showroom floor.
  17. Way to go, glad you were able to put he deal together. It's in really nice shape for the age.
  18. I saw this footage of the wind blowing a semi over on a brdige in Idaho. It was on the news today. Thank goodness the driver was not badly hurt. Defintely scary. http://www.kmvt.com/news/latest/Semi-Crash-Caught-On-Tape-250708701.html
  19. Mike, I did not want to be too persistant for fear of owning another B Model. They are like mistresses you can only afford one. I did leave a message on the owner's voice mail Haven't heard back yet but if I do I'll pass the info on.
  20. Saw a nice B. That truck's been sitting there a long time. There's an old Carolina Freight trailer there too. I followed up on the B Model in Worthington, Pa. The owner is out of town but the girl in the office said she is sure it is not for sale. She put me to his voice mail. I left a message to advise if he does want to sell.
