  1. We call them Triaxles here in Louisiana. Don't think it's as much a eastern thing as you think.
  2. I had a similar issue and kingpin adjustment as well as new steer tires virtually solved the problem. My truck is a 1991 RD690S if that helps.
  3. Don't you mean 15k? Where are you located? I have seen it posted multiple time on the Baton Rouge, LA Craigslist. If I remember correctly it was first posted for 28k I think???
  4. Do you have any interior or underhood pictures? Does the truck have air conditioning?
  5. Where at in Louisiana did this happen?
  6. What method/products did you use? I think they look pretty good to me.... BTW: My sis just moved to Liberty, MO is that close to you?
  7. Is it still for sale? What about the frame?
  8. Would that be the 500 horsepower E9? If mack rears is it 44k's?
  9. I'd say $15,000 sound good if it's clean/in one piece inside. If you don't buy it let the forum know so someone else can get it. Is it double frame and what rears?
  10. Didn't he lose some limbs due to sugar problems just before his death? BTW: I like his voice it's something different.
  11. Where's the hydraulic tank mounted and is it a single frame?
  12. bump, truck is still available as far as I know
  13. What color is the steering wheel and do you have the center part of it?
  14. I was quoted $800.00 for the overhead console last year from Capitol Mack in Baton Rouge, LA. It should be the same one as on my '91 RD690S.
  15. I decided not to buy it. If you want the guy's contact info send me a pm.
  16. Changed oil cooler, water filter, flushed everything, changed all radiator hoses and refilled with antifreeze. I'll see if that solves the problem thanks for the help everyone.
  17. I haul gravel, sand and dirt. The sand/gravel go to redi-mix plants on a tandem tractor pulling a 3 axle aluminum end dump. I haul all three materials using a tandem dump truck to single customers(noncommercial). Besides that I do tractor, dozer, excavator and backhoe work for hire. I currently own all the equipment mentioned except the 3 axle dump it's a lease and also own a 40ft. float and lowboy. If you were me and wanted to buy what would you get and why??? IE: tractor, tandem dump, triaxle dump, quad dump or larger, steel dump trailer with 2 way door, 3 axle aluminum dump trailer FYI: 6 axle truck/ trailer combo can be up to 88,000 pounds, 5 axle truck/trailer combo can be up to 80,000 pounds, Quad dump can be approx. 76,000 pounds, etc.
  18. Haha I had no idea that they made that truck. I'm guessing no one cares for the name.
  19. My dad always told me to stay away from them. He had one years ago and he said it was nothing but trouble. Needless to say I bought a steel framed R model.
  20. Does anyone else thing that would be a neat name for a new generation Superliner? Maybe someone can post some photoshopped pics to give us an idea of what they think it would look like.
  21. I did the pressure test and everything is fine. I also just put a new head gasket on a few months ago when I put new heads on. Any other suggestions?
  22. I'm finding a little more oil each day after I've run the truck. I pulled the oil cooler and tested it and it's fine. The engine isn't getting any antifreeze/water in it. Where can this be coming from and what's causing it? I'd like to fix ASAP so suggestions are greatly appreciated.
  23. Is it an air ride cab? Are there suppose to be torque rods on top of the rear ends mounted to the ears? Could you post some interior pics?
  24. Hi, everyone I'm having a problem... I have posted pics of my build under 1991 RD690S and during that time I changed the exhaust to a straight 5" turnout style that's 48" tall. I have the factory elbow with a 4-5 inch expander with two exhaust straps/clamps connecting everything. The idea was to keep from bending or breaking the exhaust with a limb since I do work for people with low hanging limbs over their driveway. My question is can you recommend a height/length of stack to get the noise away from the cab without getting too tall? Do I need the 5" ID or OD I can't remember what style I bought? Could you post pictures of your setups maybe with a tape measure by the top as well as an overall view of the truck so I can see different setups? FYI: I plan to stay with 5" diameter turnout style and it looks like they come in 6-10 foot sizes in the one piece design.
