  1. Yea, the original tips are metal but now you get plastic when buying from Mack. You can reuse the old tip if it's still in good shape.
  2. In my 1991 RD690s the tack and speedo cables are the same. They both thread onto the adapters going into the engine. I admit I was curious if they would work on mine but after putting them on they did.
  3. Yes it's a steel dash. Rust has eaten up the kick panels below the doors and has started working inside the door frames as well as the base of the windshield by the dash. Original seats and headliner looks like also but the driver bottom needs to be recovered. Yes it's still for sale. I think I'm going to have my mechanic go see if he can check it out and get it running. BTW: The motor said 1977 on it so it must have been put in later so I'm not sure if it had a 290 from the factory also.
  4. What's the name of the publication which you posted j hancock? How do I subscribe?
  5. I didn't get the tag or number off of the door. It's been sitting for about ten years. The dipstick showed just a trace of oil on it and the radiator caps (yes plural) were left open and I can't see water in it. It was used as a septic tank truck the tank has since been removed and mounted on a trailer. I think the tank was 3000 or 4000 gallons.
  6. 1970 Mack R with 290 Cummins, looks like some sort of 2 stick 5 speed transmission, spring suspension (not camelback), 11-24.5 tires. Has the smaller -3 cab with some rust, will need batteries, fuel, tires and etc. I'm considering buying it for myself but if I don't I figured I'd post it so it doesn't rot away. I have the owners name and number so just message. He tells me he has a clean title and is asking $2,000. Could you give me your thoughts on if I should buy it or if it's even worth it?
  7. So I went to New Orleans this past weekend to see the Eagles in concert. While I was there I made a few laps up and down Bourbon Street to see the sights. I saw one Mack and figured I'd better take a picture figured you'll would appreciate it.
  8. Reel Addiction I'm guessing you own the PC160? If so how do you like it and what does it weigh? My dad is looking to buy a 200 or 220 but I kind of favor the 160 because it's lighter in weight.
  9. CAT smash!!! "In the voice of Mongo from Blazing Saddles"
  10. JakeBrake nice picture. Isn't that a stiffneck rearload Lowboy? If so where could I find one like that today?
  11. We had a few of there tractors as well! A 2-70 and 2-85 and finally after they were bought out by AGCO we got an AgcoWhite 2650 I think it was.
  12. Does anyone else think the DM would be a great mud riding truck?!
  13. Vinny, What did the military use DM's for?
  14. So today I went to pickup my leased dump trailer from Angelle Materials in Denham Springs, LA. While I was there I saw a sweet 6x6 Mack DM! After spending 3.5 hours there doing paperwork and getting hooked up I headed home which is where my truck was parked when I took the pic of it hooked to the trailer. Then I had to head to Clinton, LA to get some of the paperwork notorized and when I left there heading home I saw these two sharp looking Petes hauling something huge. Points to whoever can identify what it is. Hopefully I can get the weather to straighten up and can fix what I need to on my truck so I can get to work hauling gravel/sand to Baton Rouge, LA.
  15. What size tires and rims are on the front and back?
  16. Maybe I meant 1,300 miles I don't remember. I'll have the cruise set on 74mph.
  17. I'm planning on driving up so if someone wants to ride feel free to let me know. It should be about 19 hours or 1700 miles:)
  18. Not being familiar with a high lift gate how do you spread gravel with it? I know you can with a two way gate that includes a barn door style.
  19. I have a similar style Holland I pulled off my truck for sale in the classifieds section If your interested.
  20. I just bought a new Jost Friday with their built in blocking system. I haven't pulled with it yet but the blocking design is very creative. They tell me this fifth wheel style is the most cutting edge thing on the market today. I bought mine with the top plate, slide and frame.
  21. I'm selling the subframe slide, risers and face plate. New urethane bushings in the pivot pin area. Little slack in the jaws that I think can be adjusted out. Make an offer I'm located in Clinton, LA and accept cash only. Sorry about the white stuff it's been a crazy weather day in South LA!
