  1. As promised I'm including photos of the final cleaning after the disassembly. The next step it to reassemble everything. New parts include: banjo housings, springs, brackets, wheels, bearings, races, seals, tires, shims, fuel tanks, sending unit, hood rollers, hood bushings, hood spring, hood bracket, battery box bottoms, battery hold downs, all 3 hand valves, straight pipes with chrome elbows...... Many more things to come:) I ordered LED headlights, bumper guide poles, hub covers and aluminum deck plating today.
  2. Dang, Jake I need to go to work for you! You'll have to buy more land to store all your goodies:) What does the fleet consist of now? My dad had a D8 from the 60's or 70's with sweeps, screens and a winch and I think it was a 100k pound machine. Don't know if this helps, but that will give you an extreme idea.
  3. Man I'm sorry and hope you have a speedy recovery. That is a very valuable lesson to be learned by ALL!
  4. My 1992 RW613 has the Mack/Hendrickson air ride from the factory. Parts are still available for it via Mack as well as some aftermarket so maybe you can go that route.
  5. Got 3 new airbags installed today and all of the rear suspension removed as well as the two fuel tanks. I have two new fuel tanks and banjo housings bought and they should be here this week. I have the front axle reassembled with new drums, shoes, bearings, race, wheel seals, tires, rims and oil bathed axle caps. I have new suspension parts like bushings and tracking rods to install. I also have new brake shoes, drums,s-cams, brake canisters and slack adjusters to install once the housings are here. The rebuilt carriers are back as well and they are 4.17's. I should make some quick progress in the near future and post some photos soon.
  6. I am still collecting parts like bearings, races and brakes. The carriers are getting rebuilt this week and the hunt for banjo housings at a reasonable price continues. It's shaping up to be an expensive rebuild but it'll be one of the three still on the road in my area. One is white and hauls logs and the other one is ruff looking and pulls a lowboy occasionally.
  7. Just came across this thread and I have to say Jake your truck collection is growing rapidly. I guess I'm going to have to pick up the pace:) Which of your trucks will be worked everyday?
  8. I haven't checked with All Trucks yet , but I will call them today. Alex g be expecting a PM and I'm located in South Louisiana, USA.
  9. I was quoted 1,500 for used housings from Manders and 4,500 for new. I'm just trying to make some money to pull the trigger on some parts.
  10. I don't know why but in my mind I always envisioned the "Phantom" truck being black with lots of chrome. Just my thoughts...
  11. Could you post some pictures of the parts? I'm looking to do this on my E7-350 and EM7-300. Is it just for show or does it help with power as well?
  12. What kind of specs are you looking for in a truck?
  13. Mine is a 1992 RW613 with a E7-350 and has 5" form the turbo back to the tip.
  14. I paid for and picked up my new front bumper today. I have a call in to Mander's diesel to get a quote on banjo housings for the rear of the Superliner.
  15. I'm sure some Loctite wouldn't hurt any either when replacing them. It seems they changed an airbag, spring and a pair of U-bolts at some point. I don't know why if they did all that they didn't notice anything loose....
  16. Thanks for all the input on paint. Today after tearing the hubs off all of the axles I've found that both drive axles are leaking due to wear. It seems that the U-bolts weren't kept tight and the suspension has shifted. I will be replacing the housings before paint and body now. Does anyone have a source to find both drive axle housings?
  17. It doesn't have to be applied in a base coat then clear coat manner. From what I understand the hardener, color and everything is all in one. There is no clear coat to peal it just dulls with age. I am told this is a common way of painting now days and traditionally is cheaper. It does get applied in multiple layers in order to produce the desired results.(2 or 3 I think)
  18. BigDogTrucker they are reputable. They do all the paint and body work for the local Mack and Freightliner dealers and stand behind their work. This is however a "single stage" paint job.
  19. I was quoted $5,900 to blast and paint the frame(includes all other attached parts as well), repair cab/hood, two tone prep/paint the cab and replace all weather stripping(doesn't include cost just labor). That's a cash deal so what do you think?(cheapest quote so far) My bumper came in I just have to pick it up sometime soon. I ordered mine with no fog light cutouts.
  20. Sounds like an interesting story... Fill us "Southerners" in on the story:)
  21. I have never dealt with them but from what I can tell they do a repaint and try to export/sale for an abnormally high price. They do a lot of advertising in my area and a few years back came through buying every R model in sight no matter the condition. They even contacted my dad but he didn't sell them anything.
  22. I can't seem to find a number for these lights ,but I'm sure with some research on their website it can be found.
  23. I didn't polish I just bought new rims. LOL! Yes, they are hub pilot rims and cost $285 a piece while the tires were $387 a piece.
