  1. The ground breaker can simply be by passed to get out of a pinch! Also if it does turn out to be the relay ! Make sure you’re given a constant duty relay cole Hersey is a common replacement and they make both and look identical!
  2. yup another smart move in the name of saving a few pounds! At least they could have keyed these, Nope!
  3. Kevin posted this years back sheds some light on the relationship! The mack V8 was molded around the scania V8!
  4. Wow never seen a mid liner in a rd! Seen a fare few scania engines back when scania was associated!
  5. TLC is EVIL!
  6. the bottom oring has been deleted its a not necessary oring the only orings needed are the ones that seal the fuel from getting out of the steel line and the top oring to keep the oil in the engine! I have seen the older injectors used that has 3 oring groves on the return they deleted the bottom oring ! as Joey mentioned the groove half way down the injector is an assembly point!
  7. yup start at the beginning ! the primer getting hard is odd there should be fuel returning to the tank at that point!
  8. The Mack store will give you a blank stair unless you happen to run across a parts man in a wheel chair and hearing aids ! 🤣 Appears to me someone has put in an extra check valve on the fuel return under the stop lever there ? remove that number 6 line fuel should flow when you pump the primer up! The other thing is stick your finger in the hole where the pump came from and feel around in there I have seen this idler gear fall off ! it is held on by a c clip! it runs off the governor drive! I have also seen this gears idler shaft so worn the gear flops around a lot I would usually check this if I have a pump off as you have there! I really sounds to me like you got a restriction on the inlet side from the tank! By what your describing!
  9. Not a Guru! An observation! How ever frost on the elbow can indicate a low charge ! Should be sweating a little just a bit damp!
  10. wouldn't happen to be a 4:17 or 4:42 ratio would it ! ? couldn't hurt to check both diffs! just saying!
  11. Second that Joey ! I have saved a lot guys swearing they had a trans problem , from spending big bags of money by simply looking at diffs first before taring into tranys as they have wanted!Go with what you know first!
  12. I think judging by what you have said here the injector got some shit in it on install rust or or something the injector is fouled!
  13. bar the engine over till you see the hole in the adjustment hub in front of the gear on the pump dead center in that opening and then check to see if the timing marks are any where close to the pointer! if the timing is within the numbers on the damper your timing is close enough to run 17 -24 ish! if the timing marks arn't close pull the compressor and and check the gear same with the power steering pump!
  14. Pull the cap two screws right front that will expose the rack clean it first as mentioned!
  15. So i am confused you took out an auto and are replacing with an auto? or took out a standard ? Just mentioning a clutch switch jumper if the standard was removed!
  16. yup thanx for following up with the fix !
  17. Most of the engines are fairly quiet these days ! Detroit 60 is quiet as well ! Exception being the x15 in my opinion sounds like it may fly apart at any moment when taking off from a stop loaded! thought it was a one of thing, but they all sound like this Very curious why! May be a compressor sound or fuel sound duno!
  18. pull the VECU from under the dash and check the plug to it these sometimes get water in the plug from a leaking windshield!
  19. Nope the cam gear is a shrink fit on the shaft ! Unless you have a hefty puller it isn't coming of in frame! the cam code may have to due with front cover flexing check it closely for cracks seldom the issue how ever worth checking! make sure your motor mount id in good shape!
  20. If you can try and find a set of new lifters the new style lifters don’t fail there getting hard to find !
  21. Take the fuel line off at the inlet to the pump crank the engine and see if fuel is coming to the pump! if there is no fuel you have a supply issue ! Also check out my post in odds and ends V8 Therapy! just an odd ball failure ! The engine just up and quit ! It can happen ! If you got fuel to the pump and the rack is ok! U may need to check the timing ! If you eliminate all the other options posted here post and I can walk you thru the steps to check this failure It is quite simple!
  22. There was an issue with the insulation coming loose in that accordion tube as well best look at that DPF as stated these guys got you covered! If you find fluff on top change out that tube as well!
  23. 100 percent on that one Joey ! I know enough to be dangerous on this junk! 😡
