I believe if it was coolant related it would shut down! Joe maybe he has the front cover flex issue! Also check the engine ECU for coolant push! (green pins)
-
All will be good I am confident in my decision ! I went and assembled the hoe to the cat this morning and everything operates OK but most of the pins and stuff are quite loose I had my mind made up before I went to install this it wasn't the machine for me! But I wanted to help out by mounting it to the machine to enable her to easier sell it She should be asking way less for it ! 12000 way to much ! Maybe 8000 Scrap its worth 2000 Lot more work involved here than I'm prepared to offer up! Want to be able to work it, not work on it all the time! Would be just patchin the patches it would be endless!

Paul ! We have done the same test on turbos with out the brake! If you have an engine with excessive blow by it pays to do this test ! Standard turbos and VGT turbos can screw up to! It was quite a chronic thing with stealth thou! The valve springs were different on these I installed one once and the valve springs had be changed as well as what MT is saying there!
-
Amen to this ! We had a customer running from here to California He took out countless turbos! The back pressure on long grades would push into the base of the engine and he would be followed by a huge cloud of steam from the draft tube! Un fortunately I would leave well enough alone! This operated off stage 2 of the switch on the dash!

OK So I bring the rig home next weekend if all goes well ! The 580 has been looked after ! All the glass is intact the pins in the 41 bucket are fairly tight. the hoe pins have some wear but that is to be expected! I Am stoked to have found this machine! It is the Cummins engine not sure if its turboed don't really care to much! horse power is not going to be much of an issue here for me ! not sure of the year again it don't mater its the machine of my dreams basically for a decent price! $ 21000 these have been priced way up there here , all I have looked at have been over $30000 and beat to shit! So Any pointers are appreciated! One of my old customers is going to PU the Machine its a bit far for me to road it! It is registered for road use however Not interested in driving it 35 miles! Also we have to pass the scales I'm not to eager to poke a bear with a stick! if you know what I mean! Thanx for input so far Guys!
-
Been my observation The single axle park brake was mainly on road tractors that never had adverse to park on! Also it was an attempt by sales stalf to keep the price of the unit down by 50 bucks! Kind like having electric window winders! ๐

How is your oil level ? is it rising? have an oil sample done you may have fuel dilusion !
-
Yup I think For what I want to do the Case would be a smarter move and the chances of getting parts is far more likely! As for Terrys comment there I'm confident with either or Engine Perkins is a Good power plant too! My Davey brown is Perkins and has been bullet proof ! That said it only has 4000 hrs on it but the work I have been doing with it has been more brutal than any farm work by far! The case will help take the pressure off Davey some what, the heaver work now be passed off to the Case! however its one more Machine to look after! And , The price of having land to look after! Call it the strata Fee to a town dweller !๐ As a side note I intend on mounting the hoe as a gesture to the woman that is dealing with her husband with dementia as she will need to sell this unit to some one and if the hoe is mounted it will be an easier sell for her ! Having Gone thru the situation she's in recently our selves, I know any extra help is a bonus Its quite a big struggle! Any way if things don't work out with the case I may take the JD ! We will See! Thanx for your comments Guys!

He needs to address the elephant in the room first bud! My thought! And yup you might get bit at some point how ever these can be chronic depending on whos doing the job before you! And how much attention to detail was paid! AND The odd time a filter head or transfer pump goes fubar!
-
It just contributes to compromising an already week link is all itโs not written down anywhere however if you study the working of this trans it becomes quite clear that it could help to damage the synchro shorten itโs life somewhat!
-
So I have run across a case 4x4 580k Iโm going to look at tomorrow still not to confident on buying a track machine!too much bull work when shit goes wrong! Itโs twice the money but more along the lines of what Iโd like and a little lighter foot print! 4cyl Cummins I believe !
-
Not usually ! The back section kit is the way to go as shown there! We saw a fair few failures specially with 2 speed reverse enabled ! There inlies my recommendation to dis able or not use on the fly! I have seen that syncro cone ripped to shreads on one occasion! It is amazing thou how stronge the trans is when you see the inside as Pro mentioned! aside from that syncro! not that many mechanical issues otherwise just the electrics !
-
A short on one will shut down three ! That's why they run so shitty!
-
They usually throw up injector codes for this! Not uncommon for the wiring to do this that is why there is no stock anywhere!
-
Wouldnโt be a dealbreaker if we donโt turn up one! She doesnโt no where the operator seat went either! Might be a Miller 211 project! My Princess auto store here has lots of seats! don't aproove of burying good soil enrichment!๐best leave things as they are!๐
-
Well if I indeed get this!the machine will be able to move all the turkey shit you guys can produce here! Found a pin for the missing pin on the lower attach point by the way! There back on topic!๐คจ
-
The guy that has the Pete odviously ! I hear they pay more money if you drive a Pete!๐คจ
-
It has street pads!
-
Whats wrong with that ?๐ก A guy should be able to make back his money in thirty years or so And make a good living of 50 bucks a day take home!๐ค Good purchase AND you have all the prestige of owning a PETE! Everything a guy would want! Looking Cool while going broke! The Banks And the government will make money at your expense BE proud! Keep the economy rolling!

WELL You Know! How the roomer mill works!๐ These things get around! Actually got a plan to build a rack on the back side to mount a bunch of pier blocks so I can handle taking them off by my self !So your off the hook buddy! should be effort less on your part! ๐
-
You know how the roomor mill works buddy!๐คจ
-
Well I can read between the lines sometimes there are some guys on here that tend to get off topic AS you know!๐ roomer has it His cement finishing skills are second to none! ๐ The camber looks decent when looking straight on at the idlers Don't think throwing a track is going to be too much of a problem just my gut feel on it! Its weighing off the purchase against Break downs and band aid efforts! As you might remember I bought a new miller 211 works like a hot dam couple of spools of wire and gas and I can build up sprockets and shit if need be ! There are some teeth caps missing I can replace them! Long as the engine don't pack in should be OK!Going to think on it awhile get the hoe mounted on there! see how things ARE!
-
So just using the sprockets as a guide the rails /chains are worn some odiously its old ! the sprockets are some what oval! That said the amount I will be traveling on the claim would be minimal mainly packing logs to the mill pulling out stumps for burn piling them! Still on the fence on this as if you figure how much it would cost to hire a excavator hoe with a seasoned operator to come in and do the work stump wise Way cheaper to hire ! But for doing the logging and loading the mill specially with the 4/1 that is priceless in my mind ! Dunno Going to have to think on it! I'm going to go up there this week and mount the hoe on the machine for her and see what other stuff it might need ! even if I don't buy it this needs to be done in order for her to sell it! They did invest in some new battery's and the 4/1 has been totally re plumbed new hoses and hard lines before the guy got placed in a home ! They hired a local wrench to come and do it! I have heard of the guy so I may give him a call see what his take On the machine is! Just got to find or make a pin for the lower hoe mount even something temporary! Some of the hoses on the hoe need replacing all that stuff Is elementary! The worst part is I ain't getting any younger nor is the machine ! If I need to do any bull work I'm not up to the task! The body hurts all over! Years of suspension work and humping drivelines, tranys in and out and bull work has taken its toll! This is intended to make less and lighter work not More! I if I do pull the trigger may have to get Joey to cast me up a counter weight! ! ๐
-
Inch and a half good to know! Thanks ! i belive I got some old shit laying around brake cams and stuff!
-
Temperature change I would think! The cone is likly a bit loose on the hub!refrain from changing speeds on the fly in reverse! It will only make matters worse! If this is what is going on! Just sayin! The hub and cone are a real fragile design !
