  1. the set up is the same for meritor diff correct? Sounds like a design flaw in the lock its self!
  2. You could be Right Bro! I hated it when they changed to push on cam gears At the time I wondered with all the issues we had with lifter failures etc Why would you change to a more complicated repair system ! What could be easier than 4 bolts to change a cam gear! I used to do alot of bush work and it made things more complicated when u had to fly in to camp to fix shit!
  3. If you say so never seen these before Going to be an egdecation 🙄 for me I will sit back and watch this one!
  4. agreed only seen pictures of a trident! the year in my mind indicates its a real Mack no Volvo parts ! Is the rear engine mount a single or double insulator!???
  5. I'm onboard with the H ring failure ! However Them little circles are a puzzle for me! They look valve guide size or eup plunger sized ??? Could these be pulled threads from something??
  6. yup thats why I was flying it don't recall on the 7 its still a dam press fit cam gear! I hated doing these!
  7. Ha Ha And 85 With stealth brake gottcha back!
  8. all good bro don't remember all
  9. Ya we had a guy trade his unit back in because he kept blowing diffs bought Meritor second time around no issues since to my knowledge! point is its not totally a driver issue for the most part same job same hill! Yup you got to know when and when not to use diff lock! In some cases you got very little choice!
  10. Drivers will love having that lock busser going while driving in the snow and up logging roads I'm sure! Are these Mack carriers blowing or meritor?
  11. Ya they bumped the jake set to 21 at one point not sure why? they started out at 15 in the begining! that tells me the valve opens 6 thou less different sound! maybe!
  12. I don't remember if there is an off set key for that motor It may be possible may be Mack pro Or joey has this answer! Yup check the initial timing for sure! Does the truck have a boost gauge and a pyro gauge ! Hesitate to give an answer with out evidence! At this point like I said before they don't want to look like the bad guys here! I think the buck pass is going on! I know you have to change the cam key for some horse power changes ! (Mack pro) The gauges won't lie!! Once you get it fired again and run it if the pyro is over 1000-1200 on a pull and the boost is low say 25 then you could have boost leaks or if the wrong key is installed it may cause an issue as well! Also I can see issues with heat on the exhaust not the intake! Just my thought! need to get her fixed just get on with it and fight if need be later!
  13. YUP ! No replacement for displacement! How ever I'm with Joey! I like easy to work on shit! 😔
  14. Just a honorable mention! When you get the heads back Make sure you set the yokes correctly . In my opinion ,There is know reason why valve guides should wear quickly on a four valve engine at any horse power unless the yokes are ill set! There is very little side thrust on these! And if your Machine shop provides you with some parts miss match of valve guides and valves between the 350 and 427 I for one and likely others here (Joey 😅) would like to know about it! Thanx just sayin!
  15. rebuilding a Liebherr engine lucky you! Thanx for posting! I m glad they fessed up or partly! The chances of the engine being cranked up are remote in my mind( Buck Pass) !how ever if you paid for rebuilt heads the first time that's what you should get! just sayin! this puts all of our speculation to bed ! Nice find!
  16. 3406 E would be my choice if I weren't using a Mack engine ! 460 Mack eteck or E7 would be my ultimate choice these chassis linked up with the e7 of any sort is n awesome combo! easy to work on stand up oil change what could be better!
  17. one would think you found the Smoking Gun! Pun intended!🙄
  18. Depends on the style! I assume its the Big single as used on the MH and later RW here! The bolts on the left hand can come loose and sometimes break ! Mostly behind a V8 ! All bets are off if its that new Volvo Mount they are garbage to start with! Not sur if the Auz trucks are built the same! Not sure the Volvo Take over was after 2002 so likley the affore mentioned!
  19. My guess is the rear engine mounts are toast!

Paul I agree whole heartedly with your statements! There is the issue however of Morales Some guys are in it for the money only !weather they do a good job is secondary! Working hard is only as good as the intent of the person doing the job! A person that is seeking credibility as a good wrench regardless of the pay Or a person seeking just a pay cheque! Pleasing the customer was High on my list but that's me! If your in it for the money only WELL......... you get my drift! Unfortunately you can lead a horse to water but you can't make em drink!
  21. Not one worry in the world on that!

Yup I think Joe said it once or twice on this forum ! You got to be spot on when assembling MP your asking for trouble if you don't! There in lies one reason why each wrench turner has a lap top on his tool box!

Ya I get that bro ! I felt kind of denied the chance to work on the shit! After a while thou I thought to my self I DON"T really want to work on it! I will stick with gray stuff thanks! Just the un thoughtful way the engines are assembled pissed me off more than anything! and the fact they chucked away all the decent Mack designs instead of using them! The parts system Sucks ! Well I got my self all wound up Better stop now! 😅
  24. Yup sorry ! sold that yesterday ! I am not missing hearing that excuse !
