  1. Yup Joe He needs to get on top of this fast! I went thru this with my Davey brown tractor and my buddy's Massey tractor last summer as well need to stay on top of this situation! When they changed to that filter/ combined pump is when the problem started! Very few failures up to that point! I believe he's chasing a dilution issue here how ever need to nail down from where!
  2. Test the system for leaks before throwing a turbo at it!the screw under the little cap two (screws ) adjusts the start point for boost build ! Take the little cap off and unlock that jam nut and turn the allen in a half turn to a turn! there is no timing advance on this engine if its mechanical At least non I have seen! It really sounds as thou your chasing a bad boost leak OR bad turbo! THAT SAID ! Check the compressor inlet hose at the manifold and the compressor ! Also I've seen AIR DRiers dump a Guys boost! If All else Fails Temporarily by pass the air drier if it has one ! join the two big hoses together at the bottom ! just something to try before you load the Turbo Ammo Into the parts Cannon !
  3. Joey I believe the secondary fuel filter is evidence of the pump failure however! You are the lead in this thread and are teaching the right troubleshooting path here!
  4. Chances are the pump we speak of here is suspect the test Joe is leading you to will likely show you what you need to know! Oil dilution can be caused by this pump as well that is why the dilution test is important!
  5. It will actually test the pump seal some what as well
  6. AS Milkman has said ! Do the oil sample asap You may have fuel dilution smell the dipstick for fuel! Then check the sensors against a good gauge as Joe has mentioned ! your description points us in this direction in my mind! Common Failures on these is Fuel Pump And EUP Seals! Just sayin!
  7. NO not necessarily! If its not putting out has little smoke then its a fueling issue! If you got a ton of smoke and not putting out then you have a turbo or boost leak issue! if you are not producing alot of smoke you have a fuel problem! when you removed top to slide the fuel plate did you happen to suck or blow on the LDA that you removed? This is the smoke control device ? if the diaphragm has a hole in it , it won't allow the engine to have full fuel! sucking or blowing on the fitting will determine if the diaphragm is OK! If you didn't check this you may have put the cart before the horse! As far as turning it up you only need to slide the plate 10 -20 thou to achieve a big gain on HP! More Fuel The more the boost !

    Old n new

yup the chances of any of this new stuff reaching 2o years old is slim!

    Old n new

    Yup pretty criminal!
  10. That new style blower motor is pretty junky chenged alot of these at our place!
  11. Yup I think Think your correct Mech! Scania had these and Mack latched on to the idea and ran with it! Mack and Scania Were Very Tight At one point Sharing Ideas ! V8 is other Example ! The block was a shared Item At one point I believe!
  12. yup I think that was its main function actually !It was often a thorn in the side when adjusting the clutch! It may have been the intention too some engineers attempt to piss the rest of us off! 😂 KW used put a big horse shoe bracket in this spot ! I do believe its there to help to support the frame somewhat! Rather useless!
  13. This would be a vmac setting I believe joe! 19 to 24 for mechanical!
  14. These things are another innovation that Volvo Bought with the Mack line and never ran with! it was used on the first MP7 for one model year and scraped ! The cenrimax filter is an assume concept It works like a hot dam! I have seen these completely plugged with carbon on neglected engines . I again fail to see why these guys didn't use the good ideas they bought when they took over the Mack line the list is long! Arrogance I suppose !
  15. Did you ever check for boost leaks?
  16. True!
  17. Different engine Bro!
  18. Yup totally agree on the pyro !
  19. (New filters when it started acting up???????) Is it possible we got a bad filter here?
  20. check tank vent!
  21. Check for combustion gas in the rad you may have low liner protusion !
  22. In defense of the tech dude we have all been there with this electrical shit you can spend alot of time chasing ghosts! If dumping the protection mode got the unit workable maybe he did him a favor! Duno! there are so many dam parameters in that programing stuff Its hard to know if something hadn't got corrupted!
  23. no bro no delete to my knowledge
  24. Edpm check the fuses and breakers next to the clutch pedal for green ness! Just something to look for!
  25. Some models newer 2000 new don’t do the tack thing not varied me me though! rumor
