  1. Yea that looks like what he described. I'll have to search and see if I can find one eventually. I actually work for a large fleet that might as well be a freightliner dealer. We do quite a bit in house and used to do more years ago. See alot more fuel and aftertreatment problems compared to engine problems anymore
  2. The tool was for the rings cut in the head. The description he had was something that reminded me of a tool almost like a counterbore cutter for Detroit 60 series.
  3. I know the topic was touched on before but I'm not sure if it was ever answered. At least I haven't found it. I talked to our local machinist that had done work on macks years ago when they were very close to new especially the 2 valve e6 and older. He was saying he remembered a tool that was close to a counterbore cutter and would go into the valve guides and cut the fire rings on the head after flat decking. When the dealer sold the machine shop 20 years ago that tool either got tossed or found a new home and he hasn't seen one since. Anyone happen to remember them or maybe have one? I like doing all my own work and wouldn't mind having one to finish a recondition a head.
  4. Yeah. Mine is a couple years later and happened to come out with the hot rod split "p" type intake. Mine also came from wind gap and for the most part sat since 97 and is very close to original minus bungie cords and zip ties.
  5. Yea. I have done that to myself too. Videos do help. I've started doing that when I can. I always have the wrong angle or not enough pictures. I always think that I will remember where it goes or it will be put back together tomorrow and then it sits for a week. I did find taking a pic after one thing is taken off helps. Then it's really like a manual too because then you just go backwards in pictures.
  6. I put a 89 f150 together that was a frame and cab and an engine with all the harnesses , vacuum lines and everything else in the bed and cab in boxes that the previous owner took apart. I know from experience that good pictures and diagrams help a ton.
  7. Here are some pictures of my 61 b61t with dump box and end673p. The only thing in the dash that works is the starting button it's not much in there that I know that works that I could show you.
  8. I'm heading for feed on Wednesday. I'll pass by mine and get some close pictures of the engine.
  9. Where were you able to find your shoes. Im in search of some shoes at the moment for the same size on an r686
