  1. Be careful! Google turn up 5.9 Cummins the same pump be advised that a candle that burns twice as bright lasts half as long! It’s a little harder to do on tha Mack as the screws are directly behind and under the manifold.suggest ten thousandths increments. Don’t get carried away!one screw is tamper proof may cause issues!
  2. You could apply 30 psi regulated air to it ! You can also take the small cap off the end two screws under that is the start position screw screw it in!
  3. Duno Id try what Joey mentioned there! also with the wheel jacked up set the slack till shoes just touch and rotate the wheel by hand and see of there is a tight spot indicating an out of round drum! Or another scenario loos wheel bearings ! I have seen this issue with out the seal leaking!
  4. You know Me If I get A chance To BASH EM I do how ever ! unfortunately the day time running light idea is a law here Paul and I agree with having it unfortunately on gray gloomy days it really helps to pick out them darker color vehicles! That Said As much As I would like to blame the Volvo Trashers on this It aint there Fault!😂 So my jab here would be When they work ! When the Anthem was introduced the dollarstore headlight were Garbage they would fail in 2 weeks of delivery of the truck! Think they got that fixed now however ! JAB of the Day!

    no start

    Any codes?
  6. You need to go to the dealer or someone with the Mack software and have them set the idle and then go into the program and turn off set idle with dash switches! Have seen this happen several times!
  7. I suspect the relay picture one is the culprit! picture two is the start relay! picture two looks to be the accessory relay ! That one controls everything for the dash the heater fan etc ! There are two different versions of that cole hearsay relay Constant duty and periotic duty! Be sure you have the right solenoid ! Check for power on both sides should be power one side on the big wires and power on both when the key is turned on! also the small terminals should be power to one and ground to the other! Check power on the one side and Make sure you got ground on the other!
  8. So I have a thought you can try! Drain the air tanks at the end of the day and see if you still have pressure in the morning! also these had issues either surge tanks cracking not sure if an over heat could be caused by this however it’s an honourable mention! It sounds like a combustion in coolant issue to me I’m not a fan of the combustion test cocktails they are hit and miss!
  9. Is it throwing up codes on the dash? The wiring on the injectors can deteriorate also the pins on the connections can be faulty!
  10. There might be something to what you say here Paul Maybe the evil empire knows something we do not! If truck sales cave in then they will be sitting pretty! How ever At this point the demand is solid ! the sales man said if some one backs out on a sale there are two more standing in line to take over!

Thanx for the update hopefully this helps others in the same situation ! It does pay to have the truck ecms updated from time to time and for what its worth other than checking for exhaust leaks and obvious stuff first a guy should do up dates before doing any in depth digging into cleaning of venturies and Parts chucking etc.
  12. I was talking with our sales guy this week due to shortages the and available parts to build diesel powered units he has sold and ordered ten of the E version of the TE for garbage packers that Can be built by the summer of this year all other diesel powered units are un available till next year! Makes me wonder if this shortage is just the Mack side or is Volvo as a whole! Very suspicious in my mind! ! I find it odd that they can find enough ECU's and stuff to build electronic trucks but not enough to build a simple Diesel unit that has been in production for years! Conspiracy???? Evil lerks here!😡
  13. Agreed I only saw theses on 55 and up suspensions and they all got converted to grease here the oil based one did not stand up! we had to alter the seal and put it in backwards to make the grease seal work properly! these mostly came in RDSX trucks triple or double frame units made for logging or grade dump trucks!
  14. The trunnion cap and seal on the oil style is different and was only offered for a short while and It was absolute mistake DONT GO THERE! The greased trunnion will self vent thru the back via the back seal its a one way check valve in its self putting the vent on the cap is OK how ever we used to put a grease nipple there and push grease thru there this forced the grease right thru the flutes in the brass bushing out the back , for those the lazy ones that wouldn't jack the truck up , it would at least get some grease! just how we would do things ! My opinion! The seal is also diffrent on the inside its an actual oil seal
  15. Sorry to go against the grain here however! I have seen this happen with out an accident! That little bang you had May or may not have had a bearing on these coming loose it MAY Have contributed ! More Likely scenario is ! If trans had been removed to service a clutch and the mounts removed at that point its more likely the bolts were stripped when tightening! A yearly truck inspection should have picked up on this! I personally in the last 6-10 years had been doing truck inspections and this is one of many things I would look for and find! So in my mind you would be only hopeful to get the insurer to pay for it! So If you don't want to remove the trans you may be able to remove the clutch fork assembly install longer bolts and put nuts on the inside! It Takes some patience and some bitching and whining but it can be done! It does appear you have one broken bolt so this idea may not work in your case! Just sayin!
  16. I recommend you Take all the grounds off the block and polish up the eyelets through away the star washers and cinch it down tight!
  17. run power from the accessory relay under the dash! OR better still to one of the breakers on the breaker bank under the heater or glove box on a switched circuit !
  18. Yup You can install an auto greaser but if you don't jack it up your wasting grease and time the key is to get the grease where it needs to go on the bottom! the seals on these are meant to keep the dirt out and let the grease out, so to keep greasing with out jacking it up your just letting the grease out! I'd go with the Stengel bros style one if I was doing it PAI sells one also! Note there are two diffrent bolt patterns!
  19. Yup good on you for taking the leap on that one!👍
  20. Bro I have read this over and over don't really get the jist! I was hoping some of the gurus here would pipe up So I will give it a stab! you mean the unit rolls to a stop but at an idle or it cranks the starter on its own to start up again after its stopped in neutral ? Sounds like a gremlin for sure! check EPDM panel for green fuses and breakers Is there a rubber boot around that fuse panel! its to the left of the clutch area there! this was an issue for awhile with most of these units!there was an TSB on the subject Mack pro Might shed some light on this!
  21. There are two ! passenger side directly in front of the starter and Drivers side in the rear of the oil cooler!
  22. Yup Big time! worst yet gettng a phone call every hr ! How's it going ,when will it be done!😡
