Unlike my 13 speed which is more of grinding and cursing than smooth and easy

I did drop some treatment in there. My first thought was with the new fuel maybe I picked up crap in the tank that got churned. Not sure but I don't want to risk breaking down again in a truck that has only gone 19 miles in past 8 years (all in the last year). Hopefully by the Etown diesel show ill be set and ill get out to Gerharts with it.

I just gave a client a shipping quote to Christchurch. Have him drive it down for him instead. It might be a little damp but what a drive! That is going to be an experience he will talk about for a lifetime.

My brother in law had one of the 3000 generators. After about 40 hours of use it failed on him. He bought a Generac after and it's worked flawlessly for him. He has a 4000w one now and it powered all the essentials in his house 9 days continually after Sandy. My sister has a 7500w Generac that she used also during Sandy. It's got a plug to the main box in her house. It ran the heat (just the one zone at a time), fridge, lights, well pump and the kids played video games. Spend a couple extra bucks and buy the better unit. It will save you $ in the long run. Personally, try to find a used Honda generator. The are very reliable and very quite. Used you can get for reasonable prices.

We were pondering why Pratt was dumping his cars yesterday at work. I was thinking health issues or maybe cashing out and reinvesting the money on a new real estate venture!

With Macungie coming in two weeks I figured I need to get more seat time. Still haven't mastered the 13 speed yet plus I want to get some miles under these tires before driving 2.5 hours. Yesterday I left my shop and was going to stop at Wawa for lunch. On the way I stopped for fuel first since the last fuel I put in was about 10 gallons a year ago. I put in $100 then pulled out of the Hess station made it 1/4 mile and the General lost power. I managed to get it off the road with my foot to the floor doing 1 mph before it completely died out. I called my shop and had the kid Don bring my pick up and my tow strap so I could get it out of the way since I was in the middle of the lot. I bought two new fuel filters even though these have only 8 miles on them. I filled them with fuel and installed them. Cranked it over and nothing. Just spun. I suspect a bad fuel pump. I was only 2 miles from my shop. Today I had no choice but to get it hooked and drag it back to my shop. My diesel mechanic it going to take a look at it later this week. Unfortunately, I am not going to make the show with it. My wife and I are still going, just not with the General. A bit disappointing.

Beautiful rig! Out of my pay scale but if I win the lottery ill be all over it. That would be the perfect show truck to mount an aluminum rollback on it to haul classic cars on. I would love to see more exterior pictures around the B if you can post them.

I think the easiest thing is to return the truck back the way it came. V8 and steel rails. This will get you back on the road quicker and maybe you and your pop can see if you can find a Detroit powered aluminum rail truck for him. Most importantly, post pics of your R and welcome!

I have to share my own super trucker experience. This is going back about 12 years ago. My dealership had about 10 cars going to the Atlantic City Classic Car Auction. We had a 94 Dodge cab and chassis with a pair of 40 gallon tanks on either side, stainless rear wheel fenders and a gooseneck ball in the middle of the frame. Looks like a mini semi tractor. We used this to pull a 48' Take 3 wedge car trailer. I've moved this thing around the back lot all the time but never drove anything that big on the road before. My boss asked if I thought I could drive that to AC to bring a load of cars down. I said sure, I towed trailers before and did towing for 5 years. I had confidence. The three cars were a 1969 Z/28 Camaro, 1969 Yenko Camaro clone, and a 1934 Ford Street Rod. Roughly $100,000 in cars. I leave following our other guy who was pulling the enclosed 20' trailer. I get down the road no problem. No issues going around corners, I got this... So I thought. We get into AC via the Expressway and had to make a left to go around the block to get to the convention center. The guy who I was following is in the far left lane. I follow then realized I need to get over one because I won't make the corner. All the damn buses wouldn't let me in. I decided I would just shoot straight and cut wide. I cut off a bus who was desperately trying to get around me instead of waiting the 10 extra seconds and start the left turn. I keep watching the mirrors, bus, cars curb and hydrant. Everything looked clear. Just when I said I did it I check the left mirror and the front tire of the trailer cuts onto the curb and RIPS the hydrant from its location, blowing the tire, tearing off the front spring pack and the hydrant is wedged under the axle. Luckily the hydrant had no water coming out or that would have been an awesome geyser. I pulled ahead a block to get out of the way of traffic and wait for the police. First time on the road with that trailer and what a way to learn. I didn't get any tickets, the cops were really cool and wanted to check out our cars more than the situation. My company had to pay for a new hydrant and I had to fix the trailer. So, I thought I was a truck driver that day. Life answered that question real fast.
