  1. Parts availability and toughness. Camelback suspension holds up better on poorly developed roads. I asked an exporter I sold my R hood to. That's exactly what he told me.
  2. I have to free up some cash so it was either my Boat or the General. Boat wins - I have owned this boat for 8 years. I am the third owner and I have gotten history from the gentleman I bought it from as well as the original owner. 5.0l V8 Cobra I/O, well maintained and recently serviced and upgraded parts. Outdrive also serviced, lubed, and new water pump installed. TWO NEW BATTERIES! VHF radio recently replaced. Fish finder, depth finder, AM/FM/Cassette, porta-potty, camper canvas, rear sunpad, swivel bucket seats, etc. This has many more factory upgrades than most on the market. All safety equipment, two fire extinguishers, and life vests come with it. Venture tandem trailer included. This boat is in better condition than most of its age and even boats half its age. NADA puts this at $6,140 low and 6,980 high. I think its fair to list it at $6,500. I am not looking to trade. Just dead presidents.
  3. I am an ATCA member not ATHS (I was years many ago and let my membership lapse). Ill look into requirements to display at the show.
  4. I am always impressed with your work Vlad. That sleeper is going to turn out nice.
  5. I'm going to mark my calendar or this. Hopefully ill have my General finally in order and ill have the Chevy rollback to bring too.
  6. Just remember, I live in NJ and work for a car dealer owned by a Gumba. I know high people in low places. Your threats mean nothing. LOL Damn sinus headache killed me Saturday. I felt my brain moving in my skull every time I moved. Still lingered yesterday but I was able to manage.
  7. No room or money, or a cheap legal way to get it back to NJ. Trifecta of excuses.
  8. Argh. So mad I couldn't get back there on Saturday. Might be better off not getting my picture taken with the rest of the crew/felons. Don't want to get the police watching me for association.
  9. I'm on vacation that week too. I don't think I have enough in the piggy bank though...
  10. I'm heading out in a half hour. See you guys there
  11. Doug, I like the idea. Someone should film that. Heck I'll have my camera, I can video the blowing of the horns.
  12. You guys didn't know this was my life's biography on film? I did all that in two weeks. LOL
  13. Looks like ill be there both days Friday and Saturday.
  14. I think I might have to find myself a single axle B61 wrecker. Damn this thread.
  15. Trust me I wanted to say You're SOL but when it comes down to it, it's a frame issue on a tow truck and I sold it to him. I even gave him a temp tag at no charge from my shop and we did the title work for him as a favor. Because of that he said the dealership is responsible as well. Try to help people out and this is what happens. I have always had a good reputation and if I had to eat the repair in this thing so be it. Customer is happy and the truck will be safer.
  16. Dirty - I said to the buyer that it was sold as/is and I have no obligation to repair anything for him but since I am a fair guy I am willing to help the guy out. The day he came to pick it up I towed my R30 flatbed back to my shop and he watched me move two cars with it around my lot. If the frame was screwed up he would have seen it. So the repair that was already done was working. The thing that made me mad was I had the truck at my buddy's shop who was supposed to plate the frame but he had retail work ahead of favor work and a month later it still wasnt done. Then the buyer said you are going to hear from my lawyer. I can't control other people. I also understand that he did buy a work truck and hasn't been able to use it. I spoke with the towing equipment place that fixed the wheelift on this for me. He said he can do the frame repair and not rape me on price. Honestly its only a couple hours of labor to drop the tank and weld in a piece of C-channel inside the frame and a plate on the outside. So I gave the shop info to the buyer and told him to make arrangements to bring it to him. Lesson learned for me too. Before I paid for this truck when I got it at auction I should have inspected the frame myself. I am going to the dealership I got it from and say he never disclosed frame damage and he has to help with the cost of the repair. They are supposed to disclose stuff like that. It's worth a shot. What a nightmare.
  17. Thanks for the info. How are they on price? I don't mind helping the guy out on this but I have to watch cost.
  18. We are just a showroom, not a shop. Anything beyond basic repairs gets farmed out.
  19. I sold my 94 Dodge wrecker to a guy near Blackwood NJ and he calls me up to say the frame was cracked and not repaired properly. I had no idea so I said bring the truck to me and my body guy can grind it down, redo it and plate it for him. Well a month and a half later my guy hasn't done it and the guy is pissed. I don't want to leave the guy hanging and said I would help him out on it. He picked up the truck today and is getting estimates for me. Is there anyone in that area that can do the repair and not bang me over the head in price? The crack is on the frame rail on the drivers side and the gas tank needs to be dropped. Once the tank is dropped its an easy fix since its flat on both sides. I want to do the right thing for the guy. Let me know if any of you know anyone. Thanks.
  20. Mike, thanks to adding that. Could be a good load for someone as they can get a back haul. If anyone can do this please let me know. Thanks.
  21. Ive never been to this show before. I heard it was a lot of pimped out Petes and pickups so once I heard rain, I figured forget it. If I could have taken the General it would have been a different story. Bigdog - my biggest problem is no experience with diesels, especially large trucks. I'm limited with what I can do and I don't have friends around here who can help besides my diesel mechanic, which requires payment. Money has been a little tight lately since I have been fixing up my rollback. The other issue is time. Ill get to it. I just don't know when. 2stack- Did you take pictures?
