  1. I feel as bad as I did when I was 40. Back then I was going to the chiro 2-3 times a week just so I could move around. I'm not going to chiro anymore since I bought my inversion table, which does help some.
  2. From Craigslist: https://knoxville.craigslist.org/cto/d/knoxville-mack-truck-42-for-sale-cab/7083609205.html Mack Truck B-42 for sale 1963 Mack B-42S truck, originally gasoline powered now powered by a Cummins CF-160 6 cylinder diesel engine. Showing 100k plus miles in running condition. All steer and drive tires and rims have been changed from 20 inch bias ply to 22.5 inch radials with decent tread. The transmission is a Mack twin stick 5 speed plus 4 speed Quadruplex. It is a tandem axle truck with an original wheelbase of 170 1/2 inches that has been lengthened to 194 1/2 inches. The overall length is about 23 feet. It has one 50 gallon step style fuel tank and was originally specified as a concrete mixer delivered to Jackson, MS in February of 1963. I have a copy of the original order sheet and other literature from the Mack Museum in PA. It has some rust through in 2 spots on the lower back of the cab but the rest of the cab and floors are solid. It would make a good car or tractor hauler. I have new door window glass, 4 inch stainless exhaust parts, and stainless door mirrors that will go with the truck. Bill of sale only but can apply for title. Asking $3200 or best offer. Contact me through Craigslist if interested. Located in west Knoxville. Not mine, just passing it along.
  3. Well, after all these years I'm finally getting the hood fixed up on the truck. Took it to my buddy a few months ago and told him to pick away at it and let me know when it's done. He texted me a couple days ago and tells me to come get it and test fit it before he finished bodywork. He had patched the corners and replaced the inner supports at the latch points. Looked good so far. I bring them home and throw them on only to find out the back corners are pulled in severely and it won't fit the cowl by inches. I talked to him today and ask how I might do something about it. After a talk I decide it is better to bring the truck to his shop and let HIM make it fit. We just got a blast of winter yesterday and should get some decent accumulation the next few days. Last weekend would have been perfect to drive it over(50 and clear). Told him we'll watch the weather and maybe in a couple weeks it will be good enough out to drive it over so he can tinker with it(it's a 45 min drive). I've still got a couple months before it has to be road worthy so it's not critical yet. Heck, it's a hot rod now...no hood!!
  4. Interesting. My headliner is falling apart at the seams, literally. Though I want something a bit more fancier like quilted. As warped as my cardboard is, I don't think it's worth trying to recover and reuse? Just another "want", but still searching for a reasonable costing fix.
  5. Ah shoot Hank...um, Dave. I was hoping you'd get all practiced up and come swap my transmission(when I do find one). I'm only working on half way through my 50's and I pay for every little thing I do anymore. I'd suggest you all get stock in Aleve as I'm buying more then I ever thought I would? I can't keep things in my hands anymore. Just last week, working at my local machine shop cleaning engine parts I'm walking with a rod/piston in my right hand. Three steps away from where I was going, my right hand just decided it didn't want to hold on anymore. I did a quick two step to try to get my foot in the way so my much too expensive piston/rod didn't bounce off the concrete. It almost work. Only pinch the oil ring land in one spot!!! Dammit.
  6. Yup, first time i ever had to report a post. I see it worked well.
  7. WTH? Definitely SPAM! My original post said NOTHING about 4 yr old kids. The weird link has reviews about kids toys(I didn't click it, just put my pointer over it to see where it would go) "They" only have a few posts in all the years here and most have some kind of link put into a quote from another person.
  8. When I hung the NOS doors on my B last winter, it was a job of lots of patience. They did not put these cabs together to have everything line up all Purdy like. You can only wiggle things around so much before it doesn't even fit anymore. Unless you really want to put the time in welding door edges and grinding them perfect? For all the work you put in, it looks great!
  9. Ditto, valve covers pretty easy. Jake spacers just sit on there. I think I used rubber when I put mine together. Put some RTV on one side of each gasket to hold in position. Still dry after a couple years.
  10. Been keeping up on your Pete project. It's coming along nicely.
  11. Does look odd, could be homemade with the suicide doors. Though i do remember him having a real 4 dr cab at one time.
  12. Mine was similar 4.62? 4.64? With OD it would run 65 mph.
  13. I thought at one time Dennis Meehan had a 4 dr cab for sale? Been quite awhile ago. He has one turned into a pickup truck.
  14. That's jumping in with both feet! Hope it works out well for you.
  15. That would be Doug Fetterly.
  16. Saw that on YouTube before the game. Pretty good commercial, with all the old cast brought back.
  17. All tarps i see are chain driven. A belt would slip when wet.
  18. Looking good Dan. It definitely has the RD vibe. Agree, the deflector and rain cap are spot on.
  19. Pretty sure they have been posted before. Last fall?
  20. Check out a YouTube channel "Jpaydirt". Jeff put a couple of these switchblade turbos on. One being a c15 cat in his KW(took off the twins) and the other a 343 powered dozer. He really likes them. Here is one video talking about it. You can search his channel for others.
  21. I had the opportunity to operate a 1949 Alco RS-3 for a couple hours. That was as cool as it gets!!
  22. Well, if he is anything like my buddy........when he wants ketchup....you better bring a BIG bottle!! None of that little paper cup crap for him. LOL!
  23. Sounds like a really cool truck. I'm sure that 3408 will run fine for a long time if left in stock form and driven with care. My only question is maintenance and repair. Will you be local or long distance and "if" something happens will you be able to get parts(and afford it)? I have a buddy from ATHS that bought an A model KW with 3408 to run OTR and that lasted about a year before he put a 3406 in it. Pretty sure it was mileage that was killing him. He doesn't run heavy and freight was not paying enough to support that old V8. No matter how cool it was.
  24. Always have 4x4 blocks for my race trailer. It always sinks in damp grass at race tracks.
  25. I think Lisle made the lock strip i used. Should be easy to buy anywhere.
