  1. I called Matt early in the winter and he was out of ends. My uppers are completely shot and won't stay together anymore. That's the reason I converted to regular heim ends. Should be better then nothing as long as the pass. damper does move and don't kink the rod. A road trip in couple weeks will let me know. I too thought of regular shocks and might end up going that route. Time will tell.
  2. Didn't hear about it. Sorry to hear about it though.
  3. Oh CRAP!! That's crazy! Bet you couldn't pick your heart up after it hit the floor that hard. Man, that's pain. It's sad when people don't know and do stupid things like that.
  4. Smart fellar.............or fart smellar? Not sure what any of us are? Welcome AJ. Hope to see pics of the B soon. As you see, this bunch is not right in any shape/form(and they are funny shaped for sure). Hope you fit in.
  5. Ah.....what a co-ink-a-dence.............. Mine thru a rod last fall and I just got around to finally getting it all fixed up again. We'll see. I had one that was tight, the other was okay. I got my manual out and it called for some crazy no name fluid to be used. not much of an answer. I pulled the plugs and dropped some power steering fluid in(only took a few drops actually). I figured it needs to be a fine fluid, so stayed away from thick stuff. One works fine, the other is still stiff, though it does move. I made my own rods from 1/2"-20 grade 5 all thread and 1/2" heim ends since I couldnt find any replacement arms/ends. I got it all back together last Saturday, but haven't taken any pics(will soon). Hopefully it won't bend the rod on one side like it did? Time will tell. I looked at the unit pretty hard trying to figure out how it all came apart. No good. Seems the one version I have seen used on old T buckets were just rubber pads compressed among flat plates(no fluid needed). I think those were "friction shocks". Synders place is a top notch outfit, been there a few times as it's about an hour from me. They do high end resto work on alot of different stuff(for themselves only). They have a nice collection of Ford Thunderbolts(like 6 of them, the first and last one made), plus other lightweight stuff and unusual factory builds.
  6. Welcome to the group. I'm a racer too, but not the extreme you're accustomed too. As you'll well see.................we ain't a right bunch LOL!!! We do have fun though.
  7. "deleted" again. Hmmmm.
  8. Just picked me up a "new" tractor: 1972 Cub Cadet 149. Sweet! 14hp, hydro, hydraulic lift.............nice! Had a '66 100 years ago, but it's long gone. Wanted another, and found this one last week. Picking up a blade for it at lunch today. Need to get it out in the sun and get a good picture of it.
  9. They haven't found me yet. The satellite view still shows previous owner as it doesn't show all the added driveway.
  10. Ken, you went by my place getting to BMV. I'm four blocks north of Kames Sporting goods. That new BMV sure is alot easier then going downtown and finding parking and walking 4 blocks and then find out you have to go thru metal detectors to get into building. I went there the week they opened last July and gee, no one there, only person in there. Nice, quick. Seems that went down hill?
  11. What I started with: As of yesterday: I bought it in Jan '02 as a daily driver and it was really nice. Once fuel got to $4/gal I parked it and sitting in the driveway it just rusted to pieces, sadly. Since I bought my '95 F150 I don't need it around anymore(for hauling stuff). Using a 67-72 pickup website I've pretty much sold most of the usable stuff. From Alberta, Ca to California is where it's going piece by piece.
  12. Happy Easter all. Heading to g/f's tomorrow for turkey(I think?). Some of her family will be there too.
  13. Wow....I thrashed in the garage all morning: Got the oil changed in the B, got the front shocks hooked back up again(what a project that was), that's for another day, worked on stripping out the ol '67 F100 pickup. Took a quick road trip with budd to pick up his clutch in Painseville, Ohio. Got back and continued working on '67 F100 getting wiring harness out of it. Soon to be loaded up and scrapped into new Hyundias. Came in to find Pale Rider on............Classic Clint eastwood. Love that movie. Have seen bit/pieces of Wyatt Earp. Love all the actors. Always enjoyed Sam Elliot too. Haven't heard from Rob. Maybe he's packing for his road trip this week? He's head'n Eastbound and down.
  14. I'll have to take new photos, as the old ones got deleted when the old forum got wiped clean. I hung it in the center of the windshield and picked air from the air horn supply line.
  15. Fred is right. If no turbo, you need to keep that muffler away from the cab. Mine droned horrible, til I put a muffler under the cab. Herb is right too! Don't really need a muffler with a turbo motor.
  16. Figg'rs.............it's dun been deleted befer I gots to reed it.
  17. My B had a buzzer, mounted under the dash, around the steering column area. Never did work, installed a more tradition Wig Wag instead. Very cool.
  18. Looks great. There has been various mounting locations I've seen in the past depending on the owner. Tom, that looks like a late model fifth wheel on there(new actually). The old Fontaines didn't have grease grooves in it, or square in shape. I think the camera angle has alot to due with the "size" in the picture.
  19. I use Photobucket, then copy/paste the link to the post. Each to a line: If you are bring the pics from your home computer then I can see why it screws it up. BACON............it's finger lick'n good..........................LOL!!!!!!
  20. Outstanding work. It's simply amazing how CLEAN the chassis is.
  21. Mine has replacement tie rods ends on it already, thought the drag link is still original rebuildable style(with leather cover). Put king pins in mine way back and everthing else is pretty tight it drives with one finger down the highway. My shock links(from shocks to axle) are completely rusty to nothing and wore out, thus the one fell off and is junk. Replacing them with 1/2" heim ends and threaded rod. Not quite factory, but since they seem to be hens teeth, it works for me today.
  22. A glasstop like a Ford Sunliner!!! Rob, when posting pictures, make sure you put each link on a separate line underneath each other. That will make the pics scroll down, instead of across and make it difficult to look at. I know you have problems sometimes with making pictures work right. Just a thought.
  23. You'll have to learn quicker Robert. These guys NEVER mean much of anything they say on here Pick up your mud bucket and throw quicker.......
  24. Welcome to the dog pound AJ. Watch out for the shady characters running around this place. There nutt'n but T-r-o-u-b-l-e
  25. Oh Gawd................ You're all in trouble now!!!
