  1. Nice Find!!!! Looks very clean and complete.. Do you like your Bradford body on the truck??? I wish mine had more stake pockets rather than the flip sides..
  2. Billy Finding fuel on the Eastern coast of Australia is not too bad, but much further apart than in the States. When you get into the "Outback" is when food, fuel, and lodging become very scarce!! Here are a couple of pictures of new Macks and KW's. I forget the capacities and they were in liters, but both of these trucks were about 6-700 gallons of fuel
  3. Billy I am NOT an IH expert, But yes the big IH gas job was a 549 c.i. engine and depending on the weather they would run with a 220 Cummins.. Until they got to a gas station, then they would have to stop for more gas!!! The truck you are describing would have been an R-220 or 230. Withe the steel diamond plate it cold have had a "M" prefix?? Here is a link to the ones BMT member Hurst Scrambler is restoring. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/topic/44928-international-r-model/?page=1
  4. If you go to brockwaytrucks.org and search topic about restoring a 361 Brockway. Tom Millard has a very detailed page about finding the material and installing it on his fathers 361.
  5. Vlad If you go to JustOldTrucks.com and user chtrout or the topic Coleman Trucks you can get in touch with Mr. Craig Trout via email or PM. He can probable answer a lot of your questions. He is basically a Coleman truck/conversion man but is very knowledgeable about all front wheel drive systems. Between Craig and his friend Don Chew they might know of someone in Europe who can use it. I doubt if it is worth the money or customs problems to ship it back to the US?
  6. From the later 40's thru the 70's Chrysler and International had a very close working relationship in Australia. IH used the Dodge "Pilot House" cab for a long time before the IH "Comfovision" cab went down under. Then Dodge used the IH A cab for quite a while. Off the top of my head, I do NOT know the details, but all the info is out here in cyberspace.
  7. Ron Is that picture of 141 the same tractor that is in Tony Champion's collection??? It is a sharp looking unit and I wish Tony had painted his up as original..
  8. I took that picture of the Trend at Winchester in 2011 and at that time it was owned by Howard Fugatte. Dave/Maint1 may chime in that Keystone has now bought it. Paul/41Chevy is correct on the body swapping idea and no there were not that many made.. During the 60's and 70's White Motor did a lot of sheet metal and badge swapping utilizing the same cabs for all the "Makes" of trucks they produced. There are many identical trucks out there with different White Motor names on them.
  9. The White Compact was the replacement for the White 3000. It was a White cab, but I do not know if they built it in house or has an outside source build it. I do not remember remember REO or Diamond T using it?? Diamond T came out with the "Trend" cab in the middle 60's, but it is entirely different per the attached photo.
  10. After typing in your text go to the bottom of the reply box and click on "choose files". Go to your picture library, highlight the photo you want and click on open. After it downloads at the bottom click on insert. It is easy just play with it a little.
  11. Jim You are spoiling us with all that fantastic New England pinstriping!!!!
  12. I doubt if turning a Maxidine 2100 will hurt it.. The ones I drove for Matlack in the early 70's turned 2100 at 65 MPH and we ran them that way on the NYS Thruway and I-81.. Also Matlack's had the Switzer(sp) double turbo's mounted on the exhaust stack behind the cab to unload pneumatic cement trailers and when you did it was a NO LOAD 2100 for an hour at a time!!
  13. Glad you made it home OK!!! I was interesting to follow your adventure as your writing abilities are expert enough to make us feel like we were right with you. As Jim says your learning curve will rise as you explore. Depending on what you are going to use the ladder for, you may be right in selling it to a fire apparatus collector? As far as working on your building have you kept an eye out on auctions of Asplunda and utility companies for an old bucket truck??
  14. The heck with Dolly,, those look a more comfortable MILF size!!
  15. Jim Does that big one with the winch have an Aussie style turntable under the fifth wheel or what is it???
  16. With a 57 to 60 F model Ford behind it. The rear of the front fenders do not look rotten out so maybe it is saveable also???
  17. Been There!!! Done That!!! But I did not find any T shirt..
  18. It would pull it OK,, Just Not very Fast!!! But what about stopping it????
  19. Mike, these European ones are not as bad looking as some of the Pommy trucks found Down Under.. KC: That big red one (Krupp Titan?) sure looks like they stole some styling ideas from the 38 to 49 Diamond T's..
  20. Billy Main answer: Clearer air at higher elevations with NO surrounding light to close up your eyes. You can see the stars like that all over the west from US 90 in west Texas to I-90 in Montana.. Pull over in a desolate area (NO even distant lights) where you can safely park with ALL your lights OFF, give your eyes about 3 to 5 minutes to adjust to the dark, then stand between your tractor and trailer then look up.. You will be amazed
  21. I am sorry to hear this.. Our prayers and condolences go out to his family.
  22. Thanks Bob Also if you are in the southern part of the country the ATHS Western North Carolina chapter show is on Saturday the 15th at the WNC Ag Center off I-26 south/east of Ashville NC.
  23. Congrats on the find.. Looks sharp!!!!! Picture taken at Peter's Bros??? Was it one of theirs???

    Trump

But if Obumma makes sure Hiltabrute gets elected, in December he can then indict her for the email security breach and declare himself king for the next one or four years until another election can happen.
  25. Not a big fan of sweet potato, but my grandmother used to make pumpkin rolls and bread for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.. Thanks for the brick kiln pictures.
