My guess is if you could travel back in time 3 or 4 months and take a survey of every American by asking a simple question" Who is Nicolas Maduro?", I would be surprised if 10 or even 5% would have know the answer. Hmmm. Nicolas Maduro was such an existential threat to the United States and the American citizens that hardily anybody knew who he was. Then a narrative begins to take shape regarding drug boats and drug smugglers from Venezuela and the country's leader, Nicolas Maduro is involved. Why was it just drug boats from Venezuela? Do the Columbian cartels not run drug boats? Mexicans? Panamanians? The narrative is built up such that is somewhat palatable to the average citizen. The flow of drugs from Venezuela is so severe its destroying America and Nicolas Maduro and his country is enemy #1. In my opinion Nicolas Maduro is patsy. I'm sure he is not a great guy and I would definitely not want to live as someone under his rule. However, if anyone thinks this thing is about prosecuting him on drug trafficking charges and curtailing illicit drugs from entering the USA is not paying attention. The USA is wading deep, deep into "dangerous water". My guess is its doing so alone, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if its allies decided not to wade in behind it should SHTF.... It's very sad to watch and see what's happened to that country. The President recently said: You have to do something with Mexico. We’re going to have to do something. We’d love Mexico to do it, they’re capable of doing it, but unfortunately, the cartels are very strong in Mexico.
