Popular Post storkmack
How many miles do you have to drive to wear through the outer shell and get into the steel? Approximately a little over 3 million miles. We just took this wheel out of the 1981 R770 that we acquired this spring. The wear on the steering wheel is a testament to the longevity of the truck. In coarse of its years it had 3 different engines, two sets of frame rails, 2 different suspensions, and 2 paint jobs. The only main things that were not switched out were the cab, hood and steer axle. Right now it has an E-7 400 mech, Fuller 13, and Mack rears on air ride. It is an absolute pleasure to drive.
