  1. I believe mack started galvanizing parts of the cabs in the mid 80's, I put a 85 DM cab and hood on a 1970 frame, with no problems. terry

  4. DM frame will not work for a R model reframe, unless you are going to put a R model cab on a Dm frame, I wanted to try this at one time but never got it done. Will take some fabrication but could be done. terry
  5. They generally used that 2060 trans. with about a 5.50 ratio, but it hard to say what has been changed through the years, you need a pic or model no. of the trans to help you here. terry
  6. My guess with that rear ratio, would be the older direct six speed, not sure how late the used them . The later overdrive six speed was generally in the 5.00's ratio. But you never know who has mixed things up over the years. terry

  11. When your talking range, do mean from low range to high range, how could you come to a complete stop? terry
  12. Around this area, they work on fullers twice to the mack once, maybe. terry I had a Dm dump with a mack 12 spd. overdrive and 4.17 rears, the best combo I ever drove!
  13. On the very back of trans on back box, should be a couple of air cylinders, believe one is direct-overdrive and the other is reverse, don't know what model of mack your working on for ease of getting to the cylinders. terry

  23. 90 weight gear oil will work fine in the hubs too. terry
