  1. Carl - Truck shows sure are hard on trailer tires! Glad you are safe.
  2. Les, Happy Birthday and many more. Enjoy your day!
  3. Randy - thanks for the heads up. I saw it listed a few weeks ago in the Lancaster Farming paper. I stand by my original offer of $5K. Currently I have my eye on something else.
  4. You guys have it all wrong...there were only two people in the race...bob and the guy in the lime green shirt. And Bob did not post the time between first and second. All kidding aside...congrats on finishing the race.
  5. Thanks Barry!! One down and a few more to go...just sayin'. I still say any personal attacks, political, or religious posts/posters should be banned. This is a "truck forum"!!! Lucky I am not a moderator or my "ban" button would be worn out! Again, just sayin'. Barry - thanks for all you do for this forum!!
  6. Did you drive for Martin's Pastry Shoppe?
  7. At the local PA 4th of July parade, it is suggested NOT to throw candy but to have someone walk along and pass it out. However, the majority (if not all) just pitch the candy out the windows. I have seen kids look at the candy and if it does not meet with their liking, will leave it lay on the street. After the parade there is about a ton of candy squished on the pavement. I personally do not pass out candy (imagine how much you would need to buy) and no one seems to be upset. I do get a lot of "requests" to blow the air horn.
  8. Larry, Us "common folks" would not be allowed to be in the Saturday parade. It is for new and past enshrines, businesses, floats, queens, high school bands, and a few god forsaken rap "noise maker" dance/drill groups. There are usually several restored fire trucks and antique cars in the parade too. I never seen anyone at the Saturday parade with candy or other handouts. I bet if one tried, they would be arrested and ushered out of the parade. And I do not know how the Jeep club is able to get into the formal Saturday parade. I look forward to several "climbing" another Jeep's tires...so exciting...yawn!!! This year included the Dallas cheerleaders since Jim Jones was inducted. The cheerleaders were the highlight of the parade. Didn't get any pics but did shoot a video (too large to post here). However the Sunday before is a "pre-festival" or "kickoff" parade that almost anyone can get in. I never been to that one.
  9. Saw this on Saturday in the ProFootball Hall of Fame parade.
  10. Larry, Here is the Grote/PerLux link... http://www.grote.com/products/02001-4-per-lux-clear-fog-driving-lamp-swivel-mount-pair-pack-fog/?industrycat=&prodcat=forward-lighting The replacement lens is 09561. Check with Cross Truck.
  11. YouTube has some informational videos
  12. Mike, Happy Birthday and many more. Enjoy your day!
  13. Bringing this to the top. It is not too late to attend this show. On site registration is only $12 for one or more vehicles (includes one dash plaque). Drive or haul it, looking for trucks, pickups, fire apparatus, construction, and farm tractors. All brands are welcome! The MVFD will be providing entertainment Friday and Saturday evenings (6p-9p).
  14. Mike, I don't know the final prices or if they were bought by an on-site or internet bidder. However, if the trucks were in similar condition as most of the vehicles auctioned on Saturday, in my opinion nothing was a bargain. Nothing in the listing about condition, running, rust, drivetrain, completeness, etc. But as they say "one man's junk is another man's treasure."
  15. Was at Norwalk auction today. Lots of interesting vehicles but nothing to "write home" about. The trucks will be auctioned on Sunday. Lot 492R - B61T is currently at $1100 Lot 493R - B61LT is currently at $2100
  16. A couple friends and I are planning to attend the auction on Saturday. As for the low bids on the Macks...just like eBay...I am sure they will increase by the end of the auction.
  17. Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. I am now officially an "old fart". I been retired since 2012 but recently signed up for Medicare (now I feel old!). Anyway, worked outside around the farm and went to a stuff-it buff-it for dinner. Otherwise just another day.
  18. Mike - Happy Birthday and many more. Hope you had a great day!
  19. Mike, Congrats on your win. Good luck with future races. http://www.overdriveonline.com/88-mike-morgan-earns-first-bandit-series-win/?utm_source=custom-rigs&utm_medium=email&utm_content=06-24-2017&utm_campaign=Overdrive&ust_id=730a2e26139a7873738abb9a0cf80cb6
  20. Gregg - The Roll Hauler has OH Historical plates so I am not concerned about driving as long as I have a CDL. As for the trailer, it costs about $35 per year for license. Somewhere I remember hearing to be classified as a RV or travel trailer, it must have a bathroom. Not sure if a port-a-potty or a bucket qualifies as a "bathroom". When I lived in Illinois (70s-80s), a pickup truck with a topper could be licensed as a RV. Brocky - my point is it seems each state has different criteria and again who you talk to. For years I was told I needed a DOT number but eventually I talked to a person that gave me the FMCA exemption paragraph number for non-commercial non-revenue vehicles. As for the lights, the unit must have operating lights (headlights, brake, tail, turn, etc.) per the manufacture date but the PADOT officer specifically stated it cannot be operated during non-daylight hours. Again...who you talk to. Our Chapter was also told not to bypass a weigh station. There is no way the officers in the station can see if you have a Historical/Antique plate on your vehicle. Vehicle weight (over weight) is still a regulation with any vehicle. IIRC, the weight limit for a single axle tractor and single axle trailer is 52K lbs. According to the PA Turnpike, my setup is a Class 4 (19,001-30,000). My MH and trailer are registered in OH (my permanent residence) but operated almost exclusively in PA. So my question is "Do I go by OH or PA regs when operating"? I drove the unit to Iowa in May and never got stopped/questioned. And I passed many DOT vehicles.
  21. So the confusion continues. Recently the ATCA Keystone Chapter (central PA) had a PADOT officer speak. He told us you need a CDL if the vehicle combination weighs over 26,001. Also was told trophies, prizes, etc. do count as compensation. If your vehicle is licensed as an Antique, you can do anything you want as long as it does not involve any compensation. Also, cannot be operated during nondaylight hours. Gregg - motor home operators do not need a CDL because the vehicle is licensed as a RV. Ohio (where I am licensed) requires a medical card in order to maintain a CDL. No medical card...no CDL. My CDL expires in July so off to the CVS minute clinic to get my physical. Again, the confusion continues and often comes down to who you talk to.
  22. Guy in orange shirt is DCR Denny. Denny was in the funeral business but I bet he still has connections. fxfymn Carl is not in the picture. Back in Black Albert showed up after this picture was taken and had to go pee.
  23. Ron, Happy Birthday and many more. Enjoy your day! Missed seeing you at Macungie. Just wasn't the same without you.
