Oops, perhaps I let the "cat" out of the bag. I also hear some Dutchmen will be there too. Truly an international event. Maddog and Brocky - you all go to the Fogelsville Hotel for dinner Friday night. That leaves more food, desserts, ice cream for us!
-
I plan to arrive on Thursday afternoon. First I will stop at the Pizza Slut in Fogelsville for the stuffit buffit lunch then drive to the Wingate and check in. The mad Russian, er I mean Vlad, and I are sharing a room. If Vlad is there we will drive to the park in the Roll Hauler Express. If he is not there I will still drive to the park in the afternoon. We plan to be at the Nunnery on Thursday night to help tutor the NITs. Carl fxfymn will be our ground transportation during the show. I do not know if Carl is planning to be at the Nunnery. If not, Vlad and I may have to spend the night there. Friday night is the family foodfest. If you never attended, you need to be there. At this time I plan to depart the show on Saturday afternoon. Safe travels and hope/pray for nice weather. NO MUDCUNGIE!

Fred, Thanks for the list of future ATHS show locations. If I survive Lexington and I am still in good health (and the MH too)...Springfield may be in my plans. I wonder if the Springfield fairgrounds will be the site. If so I was there several years ago for the Hot Rod Power Tour. Nice venue, similar to York. The wifey will likely be retired and may be her first "road trip". Keeping my fingers crossed for nice weather next week and hope to see you in Lexington. -
I agree, nothing says you can't go for a Sunday or occasional drive. I never been stopped but I am usually going to a show. Last summer I drove from PA to IA to attend the ATHS show in Des Moines. I never got stopped and went thru several weight stations. Perhaps you can tell the cop you are going for coffee and donuts. Invite him along and tell him you are buying.

I have HISTORICAL plates on my 1992 MH. OH states the vehicle must be at least 25 years old. I live in Stark County and the DMV did not blink an eye when I asked for historical plates. BTW, I have a commercial plate on my trailer (2005). If they ask, tell them you do not use the vehicle commercially nor for hire. As long as you are hauling your own property, there should be no issue. You will need a CDL if the GVW is over 26K. The DMV gets picky if you want RV license. It must be a "motor home" or pull a travel trailer. The RV license will not allow you legally to pull a trailer hauling another vehicle (unless your tow vehicle is a RV). Best bet is to go for Historical plates as long as it is at least 25 years old. You do not need a medical card if you are not for hire. There is an exemption form you must sign. You might letter the side of the truck with "NOT FOR HIRE". HeavyGunner - if you have a big a$$ motor home, you don't need a CDL either. Just think of all the "grandpas and grandmas" out there driving a 45' motor home.

Larry, You should be okay to leave your trailer attached unless you need access to unload your car each day. I need about 20 feet rear access to unload/load the cart and also space to drive the cart from the parking spot. I prefer not to leave it sit outside if it is raining. I know picky picky. I already paid the registration fee for the trailer. Here is the map from the ATHS site -

Fred, Thanks for the correction. As I posted, "rumor". Do you know where 2019 and 2020 shows will be held? -

I been emailing ATHS. I am told parking will be on pavement. I sure hope they are correct. Also I may not have access to the rear of my trailer to unload/load the golf cart in case of nasty weather. Parking will be tight like Des Moines (so close you could not drive a golf cart between vehicles). I may consider dropping the trailer in the unloading area. My plans still are to drive from PA to KY. Likely return via Canton for the weekend (to mow the yard). BTW, rumor is 2020 show will be in Winchester, VA. -
I worked at Mack Hagerstown and helped develop the first generation E7. I still have contacts at Hagerstown and they all say it would take lots of funds to make the E7 meet current standards. Quite possibly a completely new engine family. Remember the "band aids" that were on the last versions of the E7. If it wasn't for Volvo there might be no Mack. Personally I think Volvo has not marketed the Mack brand correctly and they offer similar vehicles that compete with Mack. They try to tell everyone the engine in a Mack truck is a Mack engine. It is a Volvo engine with HP/Torque curves specific to Mack applications painted maroon (what happened to gray or gold?) and Mack ID. While some of the engineering is done in Hagerstown, it is funded by Volvo. Just my 3 cents.

Mike, Thanks for the update and good to hear you have secured a part time position. Only the good Lord knows why we have "mountains" to cross and how many. Just keep the faith and trudge forward one day at a time.

Thinking today I may revise my travel plans. Investigated driving from the PA farm to Lexington on Tuesday May 29th via I99/I68/I79/I77/I64. It is about a seven (7) hour drive rather than a ten (10) hour drive via my OH residence. So Larry I may not need that parking spot after all. I sent OD Tom a PM asking for any info on this new route. If anyone is traveling this route on Tuesday perhaps we can meet up and convoy together. Not sure of times but I plan to leave PA early and be in Lexington early afternoon. -

I am talking about the cost of the website. Curious if Barry gets a discount based on the number of people who join the forum. Sure seems like a lot of people sign up and never visit again nor post messages. Likely some are scammers looking for contacts.

Wow, over 20 birthdays today! Looks like only a few might be legit members. Others I question? Note to Barry - does the BMT website cost get a discount for quantity members? If a "person" registers and never posts nor logs on again, I would give them a "BOOT". Just sayin'.

I am planning to attend and registered in January. Like Larry it depends on the weather. The MH and trailer are at my PA farm and will drive to my OH residence a day or two before the show (Memorial Day weekend) then to Lexington. Not a fan of driving in the rain nor sitting at a show when it is raining. Not sure how much of the show grounds will be paved. At this time I plan to drive to Lexington (from Canton, OH) on Tuesday May 29th. Please contact me if anyone wants to meet along Route 30 or I71. I will be staying at the Fairfield Inn. Larry - no real issues with ATHS Lexington info. Registration was smooth and received some updates. Of course they have my money. Also I will need a temporary parking spot for the Roll Hauler Express in Canton (hint hint). The neighbors are tolerant of a day or two but not a week. -
Randy, Thanks for the explanation. I did not want to go into detail without Mike's approval. But as I mentioned, he needs our prayers and support.
-
I received an email from Mike stating he is not going to be at Macungie this year. Mike is having some health issues and other issues as a result. Please keep him and his family and doctors in your prayers. Wishing and praying for a quick and full recovery. If or when Mike logs on and sees this note, he can detail his issues if he so desires.

Vibration that 2 mechanics and Mack dealer can’t figure out
farmer52 replied to RobM626's topic in Engine and Transmission
It is just a fact of life...as a filter plugs it becomes more efficient. I am not saying a new/clean filter is harmful. You can change it more often and incur added maintenance expense or use the restriction indicator to let you know when to change the air filer thus optimizing filter life and reducing maintenance cost.
