  1. I am a MOPAR fan but don't care for today's muscle cars (Dodge, Chevy, nor Ford). Give me the late 60s and early 70s....cubic inches!
  2. JT...WTF? Run that one by me again....I think I missed sumtin.
  3. Saw this on the internet this morning. Another barn find in Nebraska. Not as impressive as the first one (new/low mileage vehicles) but interesting anyway. http://www.vanderbrinkauctions.com/auctions_details.php?detail=147&allimages=NO
  4. Most multi-functional Diesel fuel additive packages contain, in addition to lubricity, detergents, dispersants, oxidation stabilizers, corrosion inhibitors, and demulsifiers. Cetane improver and anti-gel are extras. I should have mentioned, the company I worked for also supplies additives to other fuel additive (both gasoline and Diesel) companies. Some companies have their own chemical formulators and buy components (such as those listed above) and make their own "cocktail". Some fuel additive companies will purchase a fully formulated package and just bottle/label the product.
  5. Nice purchase Mike. Will it be at Trucktoberfest or Gerhart's?
  6. DCW, Reduction in lubricity may be due to alcohol in the additive.
  7. Thanks for posting the article. I am not going to "bad mouth" any product. But the company I worked for provides the additive package for Stanadyne. I was involved with product development (field testing) many years ago. I know it works so I am staying with the Stanadyne product. If anyone is not familiar with Stanadyne, they manufacture rotary fuel lubricated injection pumps. They were the first company to address lubricity issues and develop testing standards. ASTM D975 Diesel fuel standard has a specification for lubricity that No.1 and No.2 Diesel fuel must meet. So in essence, lubricity is not an issue in today's Diesel fuel. As for bioDiesel....it does provide improved lubricity but it also reduces the BTU content (power) of the fuel and has POOR cold flow properties. Bottom line is "something is better than nothing" in today's ULSD fuel. Also, pre-2000 engines are more "forgiving" of low sulfur fuel because of lower injection pressures.
  8. In the mid 80's, over 95% of the Mack trucks were equipped with Mack engines.
  9. Does anyone know if Hagerstown is having an Open House/Show this year? I think it is usually in September. This was the old "Mack Power Roundup".
  10. Stanadyne Performance Formula...use it in all my Diesel fuel. However it is difficult to find locally. I get mine off the internet. Power Service Diesel Kleen + Cetane (no cold flow improver) or Diesel Fuel Supplement + Cetane (with cold flow) are good alternatives and available at Wally World and most truck stops.
  11. Coal power plants are being replaced with natural gas power plants. One of these days the government is going to start taxing all the natural gas users. Then the switch will be back to coal or Diesel. What goes around comes around. Just my opinion.
  12. I am on vacation 24/7/365 but I am sure as heck not going to tell anyone on BMT when I am in PA or OH or ???? I have neighbors with guns and they like to shoot at anything that moves.
  13. Mike, I hope you are coming home soon so we can get back to serious work. Yardo has houses to inspect, bushes to remove Gearhead has cherries and apples to pick...and....fires to fight Otherdog has steel to haul and takin pics of wimmin Yarnall has trucks to buy and dogs and cats to spay and neuter JT has cars to haul Doug has.....well whatever he does and I have....well...I have....hmmmm....grass to cut and stogies to smoke! Enjoy the rest of your vacation. When you get home, everything will be in order.....I hope!
  14. Welcome to BMT and good luck with your internship.
  15. Hey guys...I am still alive and kicking. It has been one heck of a week..... Off to a great start on Saturday at Watt's Truck Show then things went down hill. We had the "normal" BMT nooner pic and then I grabbed an Italian sausage samwich and an apple dumping. Later in the day I headed back to the farm. Strange thing happened, I ended at Mike's place but he was not there. However soon to arrive was Yardo with his FWD full of TK NITs. Red was VERY disappointed that BIG Mike was not there so I had to "please" Red. Luckily I had a few bottles of Geritol with me. Yardo was showing off in the front yard with the FWD. Then OD showed to document the "pics of the week". But he was only interested in taking pics of some woman on a step ladder scraping something off the ceiling. Word spread fast about the great party at Mike's place that Gearhead flew his private jet from Walla Walla to be part of the fun. He did however cause an accident on the PA Turnpike between a SWIFT truck and a Werner truck. Seems Gearhead mistook the PA turnpike for the Greater Newburg Int'l airport. He did finally make the party and promptly started messing with Mike's lawn tractor. He sure created a mess at the neighbor's place. Things got fuzzy but I seem to remember something about a horse and a kilt....hmmm. When I got back to Mike's place, Yardo and Gearhead were gone....wonder what happened to them? Then today I seem to be missing a box of my finest Amish stogies imported from Lancaster, PA. I sure hope this was all a dream, if not I am not going to eat another Italian sausage samwich and apple dumping. It just came to me...OD will probably post pics......dang!
  16. Great pics! Great show! Thanks!
  17. Post a pic of the dash switches.
  18. Marcel, How about an easy payment plan.....$100 down and finance the rest at $20 per month? No BS....If I had the funds, your MH would be a nice one to have in the collection. Sure hope it goes to a good home.
  19. Most newer trucks have wider cabs and the driver sits to the left.
  20. Nice truck. If only I had the money. Sure hope it goes to a good home (in USA or Canada).
  21. I was there with Tom 2324ABMackAltoona on Friday. Not much "big" stuff. My first time attending and will likely be my last. ATHS Baltimore/Washington D.C. chapter had several nice trucks. I think Tom took some pics.
  22. Happy Birthday
  23. I use my trusty 223. Put another one in "ground pig heaven" last night. 10 or 11 so far this year. BTW Tom...nice pics except for the ground pig.
  24. Can't answer your questions but if you had water contamination....I would run the fluid until warm and drain it. Then refill and sample after 10K miles and again at 50K.
  25. Made it to and from Watt's show today with no critter issues. But now all I smell are Christmas trees. P.S. I am sure Captain Barry will be posting pics from the show.
