  1. More rust than I like but maybe someone might be interested. Mike - thanks for taking the trip to look at the truck.
  2. Try changing the fuel filters.
  3. If you are not getting white smoke then you are not getting any fuel to the injectors. As previously mentioned, check the fuel shutoff and also check the injection pump rack... moving (not stuck).
  4. Is white smoke coming out the exhaust when you crank the engine? If not, you are not getting fuel.
  5. Wow! I hope no one was seriously injured. It will be interesting to know what started the fire. I am not a supporter of NG as a transportation fuel, just sayin'. BTW Green Dash....I saw a PittOhio NG unit on I-76 the other week. New Fruitliner I think.
  6. Each day I like my MH more and more.
  7. I agree with the above, very unlikely to improve fuel mileage. There is no magic fuel mileage solution other than higher BTU fuel and/or removal of fuel injector deposits.
  8. What brand oil did you have in the Cummins? Most oils will flow like "honey" at cold temps.
  9. Sounds to me like a bad check valve in the system.
  10. The first number is the cold or winter number. There is not much difference in the viscosity between 10W and 15W. The best thing to do in the winter (extreme cold) is switch to a full synthetic oil, either a 5W-40 or 10W-30. You may experience some oil consumption with the lighter oils. So check the oil level regularly. It is okay to use 15W-40 during the spring/summer/fall months. Make sure it is a CJ-4 Diesel oil. As for the Cummins...likely a lot of soot causing the thickness.
  11. Station wagons have been the "hot item" the past several years.
  12. Yea, drag it to the curb and like magic it will disappear overnight.
  13. Plug it in and give it a try. If the generator is not big enough, it should trip the circuit breaker. 120V block heaters are in the 800-1500 watt range.
  14. That is ONE LONG extension cord! I think the generator would be best. Plug in your battery charger too. Of course the next question is...what is the generator rating?
  15. That's why Lee made the BIG BUCK$. Did you know there is a K car club? Other than the organizer, I wonder how many members?
  16. I am no electrician but I would suggest a 12 or 14. How far from receptacle to plug?
  17. Plug in the heater and after an hour the block should feel warm near the heater. You may need to let it plugged in overnight. You may want to pour some winter fuel additive in the fuel tank so when you get it started the additive will get mixed with the fuel.
  18. How long did you plug in the heater? Does the engine turn over? If so, do you get white smoke out the exhaust stack? Starting fluid is last resort in my book but if you do, use it very sparingly.
  19. Are your batteries fully charged? If so, does the starter engage with the flywheel? Engine coolant heater? If no coolant heater, place a heat lamp under the oil pan to heat the oil. Place plywood or tarps around the front and sides of the truck to keep the heat under the engine. A couple light bulbs in the engine compartment will help too.
  20. Gee, I had a recent similar issue with a MH613. I must be in the wrong bizness. Maybe I should buy and resell for twice the original price. Hmmmm My dad always said, "buy low sell high" but it seems I "buy high and sell low". Maybe I should have listened to Dad.
  21. Don't you just love it when you contact a seller (by phone or email) and they NEVER reply?
  22. Welcome back. To post pics, click on the "More Reply Options" then at the bottom you can attach your files.
  23. Does this low idle set procedure work for VMAC I?
  24. Cool looking red B. The inside of the black B looks like Freightrain Larry's.
  25. Hey Yardo...if you want some snow, let me know. I will ship you some from Ohio. My Aunt called last night and told me about 6" in central PA. Maybe I can be a weather forecaster....um..."it's winter, it will be cold most of the time with some snow. Check back in April for details."
