  1. You are sure its fuel ? Did you do a halo test or oil sample test?
  2. Fair thinking, im grabbing at straws after reading the post. Is there raw fuel smoke? Bad injector ?? Low power/missfire, stuck piston rings
  3. Hmm. I need to think on this one. Did you look outside starting at the firewall and follow the clutch cable to the release arm? Did you check the small cab ground wires behind the cluster to see if they are tight ?
  4. You can put it either way, they still suck. Best way to control flow is a valve at the water pump and one on the rear water manifold instead of the nipple that's there. P.S. we care,, any solution posted is valuable
  5. with 2 orings. or a football gasket on the steering pump side and an o-ring on the compressor bearing side. oil will be inside the coupling housing, but wont leak out if the 2 orings or gasket and oring is in place. I prefer the football gasket for the steering pump side.
  6. I sure wish I knew how to do what pappy is doing.
  7. Yeah what Heinz said...
  8. You really should put it back in . As GW said it is a filter. Does MackVo still stock them?
  9. I am truly sorry Paul. I know it was tough. My boys stay around me every time im in the shop. Unconditional love. Thats why a Dog is God spelled backwards.
  10. here is a 2002 engine..
  11. Thanks bud. Gosh, I have a lot of tools. My shop is 22' wide and 45' long, and its still too small.. well, maybe not.... Since i dont work on big trucks anymore.. now I can maintain my own stuff. I do have 1 more Mack engine in there. Its 75% done. I will work on it here and there. It belongs to one of the guys on BMT... I also have a bunch of tools that a friend sent me, that needs to be sorted out and put in its own tool chest. I may try to condense one of the 3 that I have, and make room for these special tools
  12. Well, I got my shop cleaned out and the KB is inside.
  13. My wife smokes American Spirit.. $11.64/PK.. crazy..
  14. I have a few, mabey many things that i may not need, but someone else might.. not for profit, but preservation... 🍻
  15. Glad it didnt go to scrap
  16. I too was thinking 1 minute is way too long. A few seconds is more like it. The air should blast out immediately. Seems like he got it fixed.. 👍
  17. Are there QR-1 valves on the trailer? If so, see if they are failing. You should be getting a blast of air exhausting from the trailer when you set the trailer brakes. If not, then it may be back feeding through the air valves
  18. Not on a single stage can. Maxi's have that spring, but it is not made to take apart any more.

  20. Dammit, an RW with an E-9 and a 1070 B.. Perfect !!! I want to drive it. I went to buy one for the same guy i built the ENDT -673 for. Wife and i drove 3 hours to get the RW. It had an E-6 with a 1070B. I was proud to drive it to my house.
  21. Mech,, You crack me up. I wish i was there to see the RW..
  22. I hope to fire it up in less that a year, but this is for a frame off restoration and the quality of the build is tops..
  23. Too funny bud. Truth is... Making sure all was assembled correctly and gear timing was correct, and rolling the engine to Zero at TDC, then rolling it backwards to remove gear lash, then back to 29 BTDC. , and having a pump set correctly, all just fell in place. This was my first ENDT -673,. I feel good about it.
  24. Everything today is junk.. used to be back then all was junk, compared to years before.. i think that after 2000 , everything really became junk. Nothing lasts 20 years anymore.. crazy.. we are supposed to reduce, reuse, recycle, but everything goes to the dump because its cheaper to buy new then fix what you have.. Its terrible. It also means that the human brain doesnt need to learn how to fix things, just throw it out and buy a new one... Sad.....
