  1. yes Paul, castrol brand is here in the states.
  2. welcome to the dog pound. and good intro, as we like pictures!!!
  3. It is stupid computer magic stuff. I had a hard time with the link too, but I have stronger computer magic voodoo in my laptop that can convert that funky stuff to JPG format for posting so all to see it.....usually.
  4. Paul, there is another video of it firing up for first time. It has the usual cummins cold start white smoke, but sounded good.
  5. 43 truck pictures.
  6. HORDER!!! 🤣
  7. yup. but the way i heard it was in your truck, but not in your TRAILER
  8. he has not logged on in over three years.
  9. not only was that truck built with a 6 volt system, it was also positive ground too. so if it is now 12 volt negative ground, someone fiddled with the electrical system.
  10. enlarging the picture shows it has the"big" rears with bolt on axle caps. those old trucks were built for men, not todays steering wheel holders. a lot of them had armstrong steering. great air conditioning in the winter, and even better heat in summer. get in one at 210 pounds on a summer morning, and get out 12 hours later at 195 after sweating your asterisk off!!!
  11. those two abandoned "stores" look more like old gas stations to me.
  12. Yup. I had a bed engine brake plunger on my 79. So I wired up A two speed rear switch to work the engine brake. Young guys would look in the truck and see two sticks and a two speed rear switch. We would tell them it was a quad box with two speed rears.
  13. what do you mean? it could not drive you someplace you already are!!!
  14. looks like there is a grease zerk on the end. i always explained the mack 5 speed to multi range drivers like this: "this aint no gear jammer trans. pull it out of gear, take a nap and when you wake up slip it into the next gear" your E-6 should have around a 700 RPM band. so run it up to 2100 RPM, slip it out of gear, and around 1500 easily slip it into the next gear. same for downshifting. pull it out of gear and throttle up around 700 RPM and slip it into next lower gear.
  15. by using the clutch and putting trans in neutral, you are loosing your "place". downshift like normal and than when you come out of the turn you will know to either upshift, or downshift.
  16. some ladder trucks had a basket on the end of the ladder.
  17. if it is the same all rpm.it could be tired control valves, or worn linkage and pins. with machine off feel if there is play before the valves start working. that will be worn pins/rods. if it is tight, it may just be tight valves and you are being "heavy" on them when we got the brand 2023 315 cat excavator, i had to relearn how to run it as the controls are VERY sensitive. the old 94 312 excavator controls were so worn out you had to be heavy on the sticks. the 315 you look at the controls and they respond. my friend had an old john deer 310 double ender that had worn out valves, rods, pivots, and levers. when we replaced everything it was like a new machine. no more fighting with the controls.
  18. are you are full throttle, or idle? full throttle does weird things to hydraulics. i very rarely run more than 1/2 throttle in machines.
  19. It is all about how it is speced out. Packard engine with eaton-fuller "auto" trans is junk. Cummins x15 its allison is the way to go. But. The cummins/allison combo is around 30 gran more.
  20. You obviously do not live in an area whr there are stupid criminals. Unlike smart ones that steal bland one of 5 million cars on the road at the same time, the rocket scientists steal the rarest and flashiest that can find
  21. yea, ALMOST as bad a "banana yellow"
  22. that post is over 6 years old, and he has not logged on in over 3 years.
  23. yup, as said already railroad trucks had the rotator body for replacing track side stone
