  1. not just this forum. in general it is a problem with all forums. one post wonders come asking questions, get help and never come back to say if it fixed it or not.
  2. try to find a GOOD chiropractor. the tingling/loss of feeling is the signs of a pinched nerve in the neck. a good one can do wonders for you. mine took 3 months to straighten me out. i now only go to see him once a month unless i am hurting.
  3. my daughter makes me a new one every day. 🤪
  4. are you looking for rebuttal, or confirmation? cause i think you are on the rite track. but i am usually called a conspiracy theorist too.
  5. you are a conspiracy theorist. those electric vehicles recharge the batteries with unicorn farts and fairy dandruff
  6. yup.. when the battery goes dead, toss it in the trash and break out a new one. 😁
  7. i would pressure wash the engine anyway before you do anything to it. you need to pull the valve covers to check the rack and injectors for free movement anyway, so washing should be the first step automatically.
  8. mack technician could not play with others in a civil way, and was part of the dozen or so other users that were given vacations and never returned.
  9. or are now crippled from working 50 + years and no longer can do the work. i have 2 plow trucks outside that are down. the 04F350 starter died, and the 02 F250 needs trans lines. i can probably get down to get the parts out to replace them, but my hips and knees are so bad i can not get back up.
  10. that is one of them newfangled front and rear anti collision damage air bag bodies. 😲
  11. i still have my 78 F250 4X4 i bought in 1980, and the 79 F350 4X4 i bought in 81. the 78 has a 400/C6, the 79 is 351M/C6. my best ever buy was a 57 ford 2 door wagon with 312, 3 speed on the floor, and a factory installed McCullagh supercharger. bought it in 82 for $50 running on 7 cylinders. changed the one bent exhaust pushrod and sold it for $1,200 less than 3 months later after realizing it would only get me dead, or in jail.
  12. I had a bunch of " profesionals" that could not drive a mack 5 speed without grinding 10 pounds of gear off between shifts, even when double clutching. Than get pissed AT ME when I would shift the truck from the passenger seat to get off the road so I could drive back to the yard
  13. Back in 89 I was playing truck forman for a large outfit (32 trucks) Took a guy out for a rest drive in a tandem dump. He did great, and I was going to hire him and put him in a truck as soon as we got back to the yard. A piece of steel fell of a scrap hauler in front of us and there was no way of avoiding it without hitting someone. I caught the passenger rear outside rear 12/24 and popped it like a balloon, with "gator" taking off the mudflap AND tailgate latch. He pulled over, said now I remember why I quit driving, and walked to a phone booth to call his wife to come get him.
  14. that is what you get for messing with gators. gators are best left for the professionals workin the swamps. 😁
  15. my old 10 KW onan is a 3600rpm screamer. you can hear it 5 blocks away when it is running. and it loves gas. 1.5 gallons per hour. the new 15 KW onan is an 1800 rpm 4 cylinder air cooled. that is much quieter, only about 100 foot noisy. that is rated 250CFM natural gas, but i think it only uses around 200 CFM. i also have a little portable 2400 watt yamaha inverter. that thing is quiet. it can be running full power and you can carry on a conversation standing next to it without raising your voice. it will also run 8 hours on 2.5 gallons of gas. when i am done with the gas powered units, i turn the gas off and run the carbs dry. i also mix double dose of marine and regular stabil in the gas tanks. with that mixture gas stays good for around 18 months. i also have an automatic transfer switch wired into the house, so i dont have to do anything. the big unit is self start and shut off, and self test once a month for 5 minutes too
  16. generjunks are the best selling generators........because every time people need them they have to buy a new one.
  17. nothing like a set of 6 inch chrome stacks without mufflers to make a bulldog sound just rite. especially when the jake has it barking down a long grade.
  18. not without an oversize load permit.
  19. generac units have a nickname of "generjunk" they work great, until you need them to work. but they spend gazillions of dollars advertising their junk, so people buy them. i used to run a 66 year old onan 10 KW unit. always starts. it has at least 1000 hours on it. . but last year i replaced it with 34 year old 15 KW onan with only 468 hours on it.
  20. finally heard from my cousin. they are fine. sorta. female Pat has Alzheimer's real bad and is bedridden requiring 24/7 care now. . the storm took out power, trees, and other things, but closest water got to the house was about 250 foot. big problem is the generator would not start, and male Pat (yes, they are both named Pat) did not want to leave his wife alone to go see what was wrong with the generator. when their neighbors saw the house was dark, they came over and moved female pat to their house so she had oxygen, and heat. they have not figured out what is wrong with the generator other than it is a generac POS. male pat said as soon as things get back to a semblance of normal he is having it replaced with a kohler.
  21. there was a construction outfit about 45 miles north of me that ran a bighorn pulling their lowboy, and on occasion a dump trailer. they finally retired it 5 years ago. it still looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. has an 8V92T detroit in it.
  22. i have seen them both ways with primer pump, and also without.
  23. yup. with another company. got a petercar with a cummins and a 13speed, so he could powershift without doing damage.
  24. my grandpa always told me "never buy a cow that gives ya free milk". i made that mistake ONCE. once ya buy it, that milk turns sour and dries up real fast! 😁
