  1. at all of our advanced ages, that will only lead to unexpected early death, and more trouble than the few seconds fun will be worth.
  2. ya know Paul, the old girl would be a lot easer to work on if she was closer to ground level. just stating the obvious. 😁
  3. back in 75 our little volunteer fire department was given a decommissioned 1959 tandem power wagon by the state forestry service when they got new trucks. flathead 6, 4 speed trans, and military tires all around. we built a roll cage, and mounted a 500 gallon tank with 10 hp pump, and a hose real in the bed. that truck would go anywhere i pointed it, just not fast. if i remember correctly it had a top speed of 45 mph. and low speed of under 1/2 mph we kept it in the firehouse just up the hill from the 800 acre swamp that was also connected to the state park on one side, and an old garbage dump from the 30's through 50's. we used it for 20 years before finally retiring it in 1995. one of the local farmers bought it and is still using it as a spray rig for his apple and peach orchards.
  4. i should also have said my favorite of all the Jeeps was the DRW FC 170. 3/4 ton cab over engine 4X4 with dual rear wheels.
  5. the willys pickup is nice, but i have always been partial to the original dodge power wagon.
  6. ya can teach a man how to drive a truck, but ya can't teach him how to properly tuck in his shirt tails!!! 🤣
  7. the engine and trans could very well have been factory installed. back then you could order a mack with any engine trans combo you wanted. i have seen cummins, detroit, cat, duetz, scania, and mack engines installed by the factory. and every trans from 5 speed through 20 speed.
  8. ya see? there are still a few sane people around in local governments.
  9. All ya got to do for that is post pictures of around the country. The idiots are out in full force these days.
  10. I'm gonna claim bullsheivec to that statement. 😁
  11. i will second the vitamin E it promotes skin growth and minimizes scaring. i should have a scar from my eye to my chin. instead there is a very faint line you can just barely see. i had a cancerous mole on my cheek. the "root" traveled both ways. they missed removing my right eye because the cancer stopped 2 millimeters from the eye socket..
  12. cb here is useless on the road. it is only in the truck for talking to asphalt plants, and the loader operators in the stone quarries.
  13. My ex was from static island nu yawk. Talk about an accent! and she was batsheit crazy too.
  14. I had a 237 twin stick 5 speed in my 79 dm. The turbo went and all the local shop had was a 285 hp turbo. Put in the larger 285 injectors with the bigger turbo, and turned up the pump to match. That truck would keep up with the 400 hp 8ll trans triaxles, only falling back on long upgrades.
  15. Iraq, Iran, and afganistan are thee I can think of that would love to have them. 😁 You know, the countries controlled by "the religon of peace"
  16. renault bought mack in 1990, then volvo bought out renault in 2001
  17. oh great another nu yawka
  18. oh and by the way, Dr Tom prescribes a constant large glass of bourbon of your choice, on ice with a splash of ginger ale for pain relief. 😁
  19. ouch!!! that looks like something a dumbazz from nu joisey would do!!!!
  20. that thing is hideous looking. 🤮 you should send it to me immediately so you will not have to look at it any more!!!! 😁
  21. Paul, seeing as the gooseneck of the trailer is detached, i am thinking mechanical failure on the locking system and the trailer came partially detached letting the deck hit the road causing the driver to loose control and flip. the sudden deceleration would explain the snapped chains and the D-10 flipped over off the trailer .
  22. sorry for the Zena typo. my stupid phone autocorrected me again, and i did not notice it until now on the at home computer.
