  1. Bet that's close to the same height as a Titan
  2. It's mentioned in the first sentence of his post.

Is that you in the picture ?
  4. It is. it's like learning a foreign language .
  5. I agree with Jojo. Problem I see more and more, younger people have no person to person communication skills. Everything is text and email (if it's on the internet it's true) . Keeping that in mind, there's no way a younger person in a position to make a decision like that will have any idea of the person in question's abilities . Then they pat themselves on the back think'n they made a correct decision ..... then text (them/their) about how bad the supply chain issue is. Paul wonders "how old?" I wonder where the #^%@ is common sense gone. Seems to me like it's on the same path as drivers that are too old.
  6. Personally, when doing the board way... I have a piece of stainless 3/16 and similar to Mack's dimensions (slicker than snot with some gear oil on it) . One thing you have to remember, years back you'd be taking wheels off like that for a brake job usually. (apart... brakes, a seal back together) if you get it apart and discover you need bearings or a drum, then this method gets as much work (or more) than taking it apart in the first place. The board way works, and probably way easier than comes to mind if you never did it. Trick is you only barely want the weight of the wheel end on the board. So you have to finesse it to the desired height with a good working jack.I also find if you have the other side of the axle on something like a 2 X 12 or something between the tires and the floor (or ground) to level out the whole thing to the same height as the side jacked up helps.
  7. Wonder if someone'll ever do that with a VNL hood
  8. Obviously he's had experience handling breasts. Of course it starts with a good eye for the selection .
  9. Yes. 2"
  10. It amazes me some of the things they had back then. I've often wondered how they ever made the first ones. ( like how would you true something without a lathe) can you picture Louis Clark make'n something for an Autocar with that technology. Thanks for posting.
  11. A one piece (torque limiting) clutch brake doesn't fall out.... although it'd be great if they did when they're compromised (lol) Get ready to have a dirty face and head get'n one of those out. Some two piece ones fall out and often on a truck that's gone through a couple, the inspection hole cover is already a memory. So the pieces very well may be no where to be found .
  12. I'm curious what powered that when it was closer to new. I've seen pictures of facilities with overhead shafts powering several things it looked like ? 106 years old....wow
  13. He'll want the 2 inch one .
  14. I'm sure there's an airport in Syracuse, as well as one in Binghamton. Cortland is just about an even distance from either.
  15. That "suspension" must need torque rods or a rebushing. Lot's of side to side sway there.
  16. What Jojo said....or ??? take the through shaft out from the back !!! PAY ATTENTION TO THE CLOCKING OF THE OIL TROUGH !!! then put the inner cam in the power divider unit. Bolt it to the carrier ( don't forget air shift goes about 7 o'clock looking at it ) then put through shaft back in. Might be easier if you're not familiar with them. That power divider is a little heavy to finesse in there without some frustration.
  17. I think it's a different cam from the 350s to the 400+ engines in those.
  18. I remember setting the E7 at .080
  19. I know without a muffler, the 350s sounded a lot cooler (lol for whatever that's worth) the 427s didn't sound like that. Something is different with the cam . So maybe there was something overlooked during the HP increase ??? There really ids no way to measure the heat in there where the action is....and even with a pyro it's measuring the heat after the energy of it is spent on the turbo. Those heads are probably both on barrowed time at best if it happened after running it a while.
  20. There's some difference with the cam. I know the Jake setting is different and if the truck has no muffler the engine brakes sound different . but what is it 🤔
  21. E Tech 460 (pre 2004) was indeed a fantastic engine. Especially if it was as it should be and taken care of. Tri-axle tractor though ??? The 3406 has way more power and more engine brake. Both make a day ride'n around gross'n over 100K a little shorter.
  22. I think if your heads are acceptable cores ???? get two new heads and 6 new bolts for the Jakes
  23. 3406E could make a 460 seem like a 237
  24. There's a nice ten wheeler in NJ on Craigslist for 25K nice clean RD
