  1. I dunno much about these Alcoa rims except some are as shiny as my head on a hot day and some are as dull as my bank balance some times Great stuff and I'm sure it was worth the effort Paul
  2. Have never seen a aerial mount like that, all the ones I have seen in Australia clamp around the mirror arm Looks good, do you reckon you will have anyone to talk to out there in CB land I dont think anyone even uses those old sets anymore in Australia and it's all UHF theses days, has been for 20 years or more likely 30 years now I dont even use one of those much, only if I have a wide load Paul
  3. I have even less idea now 🤪🤪 Paul
  4. Was thinking if you hadn't pulled the motor apart you could maybe put the coolant system under vacuum with a tap and see if it holds vacuum I realize it's to late now but just for future reference for someone else might read this one day it could be of some help maybe Paul
  5. I feel it would be fine around town running but out on the highway with high speed running I would wonder if the tyres would heat at different rates I really have no idea though Paul
  6. Keen eye there Vlad Almost as shiny as the top of my head I looked at getting some rims chromed for the spider (dayton) type wheels recently, but at 450 bucks a rim it would add up very quickly Paul
  7. A bit late to this, missed up till now Last year I had a similar on another make and model, would only pressurize after it was warm and only when I backed off to idle after running Thought it was pretty much everything that has been mentioned here and tried most of the same Turned out be none of it, it was the heater tap, I could pressurize the cooling system and it never leaked when hot or cold I think the seal around the heater tap shaft was letting air in as the water must of been under a slight vacuum while slowing down to idle at say a inter section This big gulp of air then got a bit trapped around the temp sender (making the sender sit in steam and reading over heating) before moving to the radiator and expanding forcing the coolant out and over flowing I never had enough brains to work all this out, lucky for me that some one younger and better thinking than me told me about such a problem Dunno if this is any help or not Paul
  8. As my would say when we were kids "I guess Mr Nobody did it again" I have rats shelter in the air cleaner inlet of a IH tractor over night on a bad drought year Sucked them right in tight as a fishes ass There was bums and noses pressing on the element It took me a few hours to find this simple problem Paul
  9. I dont think most people realize (myself included) just how much of fine balancing act it is to have a diesel running right If it was simple to get a lot of reliable power out of a motor the manufacturers would do it Having said that, this is still interesting to me Paul
  10. Looks like beaut weather and a good turn out Hoping it all went as planned for the day Paul
  11. How do you know the diff l9ck is engaged Does it show up on a dash light or is it something you feel when driving Paul
  12. Great news, if it had the steering on the other side and in Australia I reckon it would of sold before the ink was even dry on the add Paul
  13. Well your President forgot who our Prime Minister was today https://www.facebook.com/9NewsAdelaide/videos/219021400282953/ Dunno know whats happening over there in Yanky land but this joker might just a tad past it Paul
  14. Good for you, and I do say that with the greatest of respect You set a goal and you achieved it And you should be proud of what you have done Good luck with it all Paul
  15. Or perhaps this one ? http://eucrownparts.en.gasgoo.com/auto-products/1994565.html Paul
  16. Well have you just tried googling it https://www.swedishtruckpartsshop.co.uk/r8035-flasher-unit--relay-premiumkeraxmagnummidlum-16578-p.asp Gotta put Renault at the front instead of Mack, not sure if this is what your chasing or not Maybe chuck up a photo or two of the relay your after Paul
  17. Well I'm gunna fly against the wind here no doubt If you own a house you invest in it constantly to maintain it in good condition, not because it is cheaper to do than buy another house and let it fall apart around you So my answer to your question as to if it is worth while ? 100 % yes it is A well maintained house were everything works as it should is a pleasure to live in just as much as a well maintained truck is a pleasure to drive So to me it's a no brainer Things arent and shouldn't always be about dollars and cents Paul
  18. Your doing amazing work, I have never seen a Brockway in Australia of any description, I do know they sold them out here in the late 60's to early 70's as I have seen the adds for them but I have never seen one with my own eyes so this is all new to me Thanks for sharing with us Paul
  19. The air system is no longer plumbed correctly after it had a new frame put under the truck Im guessing the air lines were pulled off and not put back in the right spots Paul
  20. Probably a dual plate flywheel machined out to take a single 15 inch clutch I have done this before on GMs to get things to match, I doubt a 285 was ever offered with a single plate clutch as I feel the torque would of been way to much for reliable service in a working truck Paul
  21. Im impressed, you've done a heck of a job there Paul
  22. I'm pretty thick as most here know, if your getting 25 pounds boost are you still making smoke at this boost ? If no smoke then it can only make more power with adding of more fuel, or at leasts my understanding of how the show works With 24.5 tyres and 4.17 gearing I doubt it will feel like a race car no matter what you do to the injector pump Paul
  23. Good for you and all involved That 20 years went amazingly quick Paul
